Lightweight optics w/magnification for AR?

Primary Arms 8.5 oz listed weight for their micro prism is misleading as it does not include mount. I put my 5x micro w/piggy back mount & PA mini reflex red dot on the scale...1 lb! No thanks, I'll just go LPVO.

I am hoping there are some light(er) weight options out there.

No red dots (Unless the dot + magnifier is still light). Magnification is a must have. I have astigmatism FWIW.

Lightest are probably leupy straight 1" scopes, swfa ultralight, or something similar. Add a ul mount and your at 14 or so oz

Any a 30 mm or larger lpvs are going to weigh about a pound if not more..... At least all the ones I'm aware of

I am running a Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20 and an Aero lightweight mount. I believe it is ~9oz for the scope and ~3 oz for the mount.

I'm running a Victoptics 1-6 LPVO. I am really liking this optic and have used it at 50 feet, 50 yards and 100 yards. It comes in at 15 oz.

I have astigmatism too and don't see dots clearly. I can live with that on a pistol but not a rifle.

A decent budget LPVO is the Sig Tango MSR 1-6. It's a 30 mm tube, and comes with a mount for $275ish. Not sure what they weigh.

You can get them with other reticles, Leupold is revamping..... or doing something with it..... So I'm not sure what's currently available.

My Leupold is a pre- Freedom scope with a PigPlex reticle. It’s pretty good for quick shots but not so good for precision shots as the PigPlex reticle interferes with seeing small far targets.

Honestly, I’ve wished to have that “MOA” reticle for what I use my AR for.

Theres a Gen II version of Micro Prism available for pre-order from Primary Arms. It allegedly weighs 7.6 oz.

I got a new scale & weighed the optics again

The PA 3x micro showed 8.96 oz
The PA 5x micro w/piggy back mount & mini reflex dot showed 12.52 oz

A simple illuminated dot is my fav for a scope. Even a chevron, but the weird stuff I saw on those 9 oz Leupolds was just that, weird to me.

Theres a duplex option, last one. Im not aware of a Chevron reticle on any light weight scope, but I'm pretty sure if you look you can find an older vx with the firedot.
