You never know who you will bump into at the range. A couple of weeks ago, my son and I went to the local indoor range to shoot. When we walk in there was one of my old friends, Shannon. We’ve known each other for years. He worked for the PD in my hometown and was the Chief of the police department when he retired just over a year ago.
He and his wife bought a sailboat and spent a year sailing in the Keys. He said it was fun, but expensive. He was now working at the range to keep him busy and have some extra fun money.
I told him that I had bought a Chiapas Rhino in 357 Magnum. His eyes light up and asked if I had it with me. I told him no, but I would come by another day with it so that he could shoot it.
This past Monday I went to the range with the revolver and a box of 357 magnum ammo. Shooting is fun, but shooting with friends is even more fun. We went through those 50 rounds in a short time. Shannon said that was the first time he had shot a Rhino with a long barrel.
I asked if he would like to shoot it some more, he said yes, but had to get back to work. I told him to just hang on to the revolver and shoot it as much as he liked.
I told him to try some 38 Target loads in it, it was like shooting a cap gun.
He told me that he would take great care of my gun and get it back to me in a couple of weeks. I told him to have fun with it.
It’s nice to have good friends that you can trust your toys with.
