Greeting's Folks In SIG World-
My question is, what do you folks in the SIG Nation think of
SIGARMS decision to flood the market with factory refurb SIG's
in 9m/m, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP caliber's. There is a wave of
these factory refurb (police trade-ins), sweeping the country
like wildfire. In our shop we have many of the refurbished
P226's, and P229's right now; and also have a few .45 cal
P220's.
Now, I"m still comitted to SIG-SAUER handguns as MY personal
weapon of choice as a CCW piece; but I'm out spoken about
SIGARMS attempt to decrease the value of our world
class P-series weapons. I realize that not everyone can afford
the high price of a NIB factory SIG; thus the refurb's give them
another option. That is all well and good!
But, suppose you (or I) walked into our favorite shop to trade
a SIG classic P-series; and the owner says something to you
like "Bud, I'm sorry, but I can't put more than about $350 in
your LNIB SIG; cuz the factory refurb's are selling well at $499".
You stop and think for a minute, now here is a weapon that
ranges in price from about $600-$800 NIB (depending on
model and your locale), and you coughed up hard earned
cash to buy it; now this fellow behind the gun sales counter
is telling you that he is only going to allow you $350 towards
a trade, or give you even less for a cash sale! I don't think
so, as I would politely tuck my SIG under my arm and return
home frustrated at SIGARMS of Exeter, New Hampshire. I
would like to hear some feedback, opinions, comments on
this tactic by SIGARMS?
*FootNote- FWIW in our shop, located in Bessemer, AL we sell
ALL factory refurb SIG's for $499.
