I'm looking to get an M1A SOCOM 16 furniture set that includes the handguard and scope mount.

Thing is, I don't have a Springer - I have a Polytech M14. Will this furniture fit?

I can find no reference to this anywhere, but would like to be sure before I plop down hard-earned coin :)

What'd be a good price for stock, handguard and scope mount?

TIA

The stock is just a painted GI stock. I've seen some still with the molded in checkering and some(like mine) that have had it ground off before they were repainted. The paint does chip off, especially around the ejection port where brass hits it. You can always get a cheapie from Fred's and paint it yourself. The handguard with the cut out is available from Springfield for about $15. I took the one Fred sent me when I bought a stock from him and just cut it out myself and it works fine. I think the Springfield handguard may be plastic, the GI is fiberglass, at least mine is. The mount is also available from Springfield for either $112 or $125, I forget which.

To answer the question simply, yes the stock assembly, scope mount, and handguard will work with a minimum if any fitting necessary.

Thanks for your responses, all!

Much appreciated. I am going to give it a whirl. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will do so.
