Very, very nice! That gun's only weak spot would be the plastic looking grips.

Kimbers do look good don't they. Great thing is they shoot as good as they look. If I only could find a Colt that would shoot as well as my Kimber. :(

I love my Kimber Warrior. The Gunner Grips are very comfortable and there is talk they are going to make some for the Browning High Power too. I also picked up the Springfield MC Operator which is very similar to the Warrior. I highly both of these fine pistols. However don't tell your wife what you paid for them!lol

Nice pistol!

Put a nice set of double-diamond exotic wood grips on it and call it good.

Great news! :) Good to hear good things are once again coming out of the
Kimber plant in Yonkers~. I love my 5" Raptor, even though its a
Series II. :uhoh: Only problem has been 2X failures to go into battery,
within the first 66 rounds. After that, its been a flawless operator~ :D

Hi Ala Dan,

That Raptor is nice looking almost bought that one until I found out the Warrior was a seris I. Then I jumped on it. Maybe some day I will buy the raptor.

Greetings shooter.45 my friend-

I took the advice of an ole' friend (the silent one) who is a THR/TFL
member himself, and sought out the right Kimber for me. :uhoh: He gave
me great reviews of the Kimber line, as he has owned many. His advice
was too save money and go with a Kimber Custom; but the Raptor was
just too impressvie for my blood (laughing loudly :D ). I have been a DA
SIG P220 man for many years, and have been enjoying a Springer G.I.
WW-II .45 for a little over a year now; so the Kimber makes a nice
addition to the .45 family.

I have been carrying my Warrior as my duty weapon since May. I replaced the grips with coyote Gunners. I really like the gunner grips.

My Warrior is the first 1911 type that wasn't made by Colt that I've ever bought. I don't regret it one bit. The only things I was disappointed with is that it only came with one magazine and the Kimpro finish isn't wearing well at all.

I'm using Wilson 47D magazines and have had zero reliability problems. (Someone told me Wilson's didn't work in Kimbers  )

If you want a rail framed 1911, the Warrior is a good choice. Comes out of the box with all of the features you want on a defensive pistol.

So that's what Kimber's new night sights look like, with the serrations on the side? Mine is one of the first production ones that came with Novaks.

What's the usual going price for a Warrior? I am sure it's far too expensive for me to consider (I keep telling myself that if am going to spend 900+ on a gun, it's going to be on an AR or a true custom  ).

Ala Dan,

Yes where has (silent one) been have not heard much from him. I am going to have to shoot him a email or call him see how things are going. Yes he does like Kimbers but think he is stuck on the Springer's now.... :) SO how is that finish on the Desert Warrior that did look nice online..

The finish on the Desert Warrior from Kimber is impressive, to say the least. I handled the gun when it first arrived last week, and I believe it too
be an excellent firearm with maybe a bit better finish; but its entirely too
early to tell? The grips have a greenish (desert sand) look too them. I wish
they would use their skeletonized match grade triggers in them as well;
instead of the old (solid) Colt type triggers.

shooter.45,

I'm still around. Just been very busy with personal things goin on. Good luck with the Warrior. Did big Al have a big smile on his face when you bought it,? :D I tried to talk my good friend Ala Dan into getting a Kimber custom, but he went and made me jealous, and bought the Raptor. :D I still prefer the Kimbers, but the Springfields are great weapons too. As long as they go "bang" when I squeeze the trigger, I'm happy. :) Again, best of luck with the Warrior. That is one fine weapon. Maybe one day we can all get together, and have a " shoot em up " range session.

SILENT ONE

roger that, shooter.45. Don't worry about the Winter, as we can use the indoor range that I belong to. ;) Maybe we can get Ala Dan to come up here to shoot with us. :D Talk to you later.
