Saw and held one at a gun show last week and it seemed like a great CCW gun, smaller and lighter than my Glock 22. Anybody have one? Reviews please.

There are many millinium pros - what model number was it?

If you don't know the number, then what magazine config (single or double stack) was it? And was it DAO or DA/SA.

140BP?

I believe that was the model number if I remember correctly. Also I'm pretty sure it was DAO, with 10 round capacity magazine. How do you tell DS VS SS? Will a DS have a significantly wider grip?

I had a Millenium Pro PT140. Accuracy past 7 yds was terrible. Trigger pull was so long that I had to start the day before I wanted it to go off. Sold it at a gun show and took my beating. Replaced it with a S&W 908.
Aside from that, it went bang every time I pulled the trigger. Never once malfunctioned regardless of the ammo that I used.
(Just my opinion)

It probably was DAO (double action only - pulling the trigger both cocks and releases the striker), though I've been reading that the newer ones are DA/SA (first shot double action, the second and subsequent shots single action).

Generally speaking, the millinium pro series has a good reputation among many (though Taurus has inherited a poor reputation with some because years ago they were a cheap clone company - not any more). They do have a lifetime guarantee, but you have to send it back to them and turn-around time can be annoying. There have been a few on these boards who have had continuing problems.

I'll remind you - unhappy people complain, happy people go out and shoot. Self-reporting of problems results in a poor statistical population.

PT-111

I had a one in 9mm. DAO trigger was horrible. Forget lining up quick second shot, medium accuracy. Had 3 problems with gun,
ejector broken, trigger asy pins came loose, take down pin retainer spring. All problems were handled promptly and at NO Charge. Got rid of it for XD-9SC. Happier

We have the PT111 mil pro in 9mm. Great gun. Shoots accurate, never a jam or misfeed or misfire. It has a long trigger pull, but it's DAO, so it's to be expected. We didn't buy it for target shooting, bought if for the wife for SD.
She loves it. I'm to understand the mil pro is much different than the millenium so be careful. BTW, see how much they've gone up in price? About 30% since october! Someone must like em.

I have a PT140 Milennium Pro (the .40S&W M. Pro). I love it. In fact I love it enough that I probably will be picking up more M. Pros in other calibers (probably a 9mm PT111 M. Pro, possibly the titanium version of the PT111, possibly the single stack .45ACP PT745).

Accuracy is great for a small CCW type pistol. It may take a little while to get used to the DAO trigger though before you see the accuracy.

The quality is definately there. Tolerances seem good, fit and finish is very good (even in the interior). Even my Kimber and Kahr owning best friend has been impressed with mine. Mine has been 100% reliable so far through 750 rounds of ammo (just over half of them various JHPs). Mine feels very good in my hand.

As for the triggers...They have traditionally been DAO. Many people don't like a DAO trigger- they are long and heavy compared to a SA trigger pull. The M. Pro triggers do have a long trigger pull, but once broken in they are very smooth (mine after 750 rounds and hundreds of dry fires compares to a nice revolver DA pull). Because the trigger is probably the biggest complaint against these guns (and those who complain about accuracy usually had poor accuracy because they didn't master the DAO trigger) Taurus seems to be switching over to the new SA/DA trigger they introduced in the 24/7 Pro. This trigger is essentially a SA trigger with a consistent SA pull every shot (unlike a tradition DA/SA trigger which has a long and heavy DA pull for the first shot and then transitions to SA for subsequent shots) but it retains the ability to simply pull the trigger again and fire with a DA shot if the first pull doesn't fire the round (unlike a traditional SA gun with which you'd have to manually re-cock the gun). Personally, I'd prefer the DAO trigger on this kind of gun but I think the SA/DA version will be very popular.

Rcellis,

All M. Pros in .40S&W are double stack (and designated the PT140). The only M. Pro available in a single stack version is the .45ACP PT745.

Taurus Millenium Pro

the Millennium Pro is not the same gun as the Millennium!

Trigger is much improved. Grip ergonomics improved.

I've owned my 9mm PT-111 Milllennium Pro for three months and have ~400 rounds through it. Not one single failure to feed or eject, either hollow points or ball.

Very accurate, once you get used to the DAO trigger.

I personally like having the manual safety, for emulating condition 1 (cocked and locked) as I don't want to rely on the DAO trigger alone to prevent AD.

I also like the Taurus security system, as I have little kiddies and when were up to camp, or anywhere else, I can secure it completely. (I use a gun vault for my handguns at home).

Picked mine up off Gunbroker.com for $300 NIB, but had to pay to ship and FFL transfer fee.

Money well spent IMHO.

I think the next developement in this line is going to switch over to the SA/DA 24-7 action. I beilieve they're going to call this a 24-7 compact, though it will essentially be a Millennium Pro with the 24-7 trigger mechanism.

I have a PT-140 Pro and I like it. I also have a PT-111 9mm non-Pro and my brother has a PT-145 Pro that's he's very happy with. All are good guns and are very dependable. The trigger has been improved with the Pro model, but the non-pro is not at all bad (especially when compared to something like a KelTec P-11). I've never had a misfeed in my PT-140 and accuracy is not bad considering the barrel length. It's certainly within acceptable combat accuracy expectations up to 15 yards, capable of 4-6" 10-shot groups depending on the ammo and the shooter.

I generally practice most of the time with 155 grain reloads or 165 grain Remington FMJ's and I carry 135 grain Hydra-Shoks in it right now.

My wife has a PT-111 (non pro) She likes it, shoots it well.
I've used it a couple of times, I personaly don't really enjoy shooting 9mm much (just sold my HK USP 9 and replaced it with a Taurus 651 snubbie and a Para-Ord CCO LDA) but it's not bad for a 9mm. Only problem we ever had with the 111 was a couple of stove pipes with CCI Blazer Aluminum cased ammo. Other then that no problems and accuracy has been good.

I own the PT140 shown below. I've never had one problem with it. It shoots everytime, with any ammo I load. DAO trigger pull takes a little getting used to, but I've had a SA 1911 for years so there is a big difference. I like my Mil. Pro. enough that I carry it everyday. It's compact, and pretty light compared to others I've carried. Not a bad choice IMO.

Taurus 24/7 pro .40 sw

I just bought the 24/7 pro in a .40 caliber. Great gun so far. Comes with two 15 round mags and you can have one in the chamber. Ergonomics and looks are great. Up until now I have owned only Taurus revolvers. {titanium .38 spec 2 inch barrel and the .357 magnum tracker 4 inch barrel-GREAT GUNS NO FAILURES HAVE SHOT HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS THROUGH BOTH} I am going to the range Saturday will let you know how that goes. I got it for 400 even, not a bad deal. I really think Taurus has come a long way the last few years. They have never done me wrong. I would even consider it a good home defense weapon, if I find it reliable. I am used to my sw .357mag 8 rounds 5 inch barrel-performance gun as home defense. Hard to give up-maybe the .40 will make a good car gun. [I forgot to mention the new 24/7 is sa/da.] Thank you.
