I know I have heard of people who have done this but have any of you done it? If so what kind of paint did you use? I only want to paint the frame, not the slide. Have any of you used Krylon Fusions?

I've painted synthetic rifle stocks. Not with the fusion paint though, I had them sprayed with a plastic etching primer first. They've held up well.

:scrutiny: I was just sharing this story the other day...I met a guy who had painted his Glock 30 in attempt to smuggle it into Taiwan :scrutiny: I couldn't stop laughing at what he had done to his firearm...He didn't even strip it before it painted it...he just put it on some newpaper and started spraying away :scrutiny:

I'd spray paint someone elses Glock. Not my own however. You should spraypaint the noze blaze orange. I would imaginge cleaning it would be bad, and your hand oils would be bad as well. Hopps 9 would eat any kind of home paint off.

Well, it certainly is unique.

So how does the duracoat hold up on the polymer in terms of wear resistance?

Perhaps one day I'll get a Glock done in Dewalt yellow for the bumblebee look!

Paint Your Glock?

Bulbboy is obviously a big Oklahoma State fan and the customized paint job on what appears to be a G23 is outstandingly attractive. His choice of colors, however, is a cause for possible concern.

Glock offers a red frame/black slide version of the G17 as a non-firing "PRACTICE PISTOL", (available to Law Enforcement only) and he's setting himself up for a potentially EXTRAORDINARILY large civil judgment should someone be ACCIDENTIALLY injured or killed with his similarly colored pistol.

Should his G23 be UNINTENTIONALLY fired by ANOTHER person resulting in injury, most juries PROBABLY would find "GROSS NEGLIGENCE" in his having made it APPEAR to be one of those models incapable of being fired.

Using the same reasoning, I would also NOT paint any Glock frame BLUE because it then would look too much like the G17T Training Pistol, also offered to law enforcement, that fires ONLY non-lethal projectiles such as Simunitions.

Screw the jury. I say paint away. Just state temporary insanity because you watched too much Queer Eye since your wife was nagging you to accessorize. Then say you thought it was "metro" to paint your gun.

Thats funny but might not work with the jury
i like the bumblebee idea might look cool:neener:

It only goes to the range and in the safe - I carry other guns.

I like it and thats all that matters! :)

I like the way you think!!

Besides if anyone gets accidently shot with any of my guns there will be lawsuit - people worry too much.

We live in the age of the Personal Injury Lawsuit.

In the galaxy of stuff we obsess over:
He used full metal jacket just like the military!
He used expanding bullets, designed for maximum damage.
The magazine safety is disconnected.
He carried it loaded in willful disregard to the owner's manual.
He carried a hundred year old design COCKED, ready for immediate killing.
There's a skull on the grip panels - what kind of sociopath would carry that?!
...

Color must be at the bottom the list - after all, Keltec has offered blue and tactical pink - although not on the same gun so far as I know. STI still offers red and blue.

...color coordinated dot-sight. I hadn't noticed that before.

If the time comes when we truely have to worry over what an Austrian manufacturer and a few random groups, none of which have squat to say about what colors on a firearm mean to anyone other than themselves, can effect a personal liability trial thousands of miles away, perhaps it is time we just kept all the ammo locked in a safe like it says in our owners manual.

Besides, how far would AWB '94 have gotten had all the ARs been mauve and all the AKs puce?

Ugggg, there's a pic over at TFL with a really, really ugly painted Glock. Looks like something you'd expect a clown to be holding as he comes out of the clown car.

Personally, no interest in painting guns. I like them the way I buy them, otherwise I would have gotten something different.

Just be sure it is not a Longhorn, from TU. If so I am sure it was premeditated and you should be hung. Ha Ha!

how about a painted 1911

Normally, I'm a "live and let live" kinda guy, but that's just wrong...

I am glad to say I was not the one to do this.
I found this pic o the net someware. It is one of those pic's that you have to share when you get the chance.

It's not real...

...and it looks like a Photoshop fake, too. No one in their right mind would do that to a 1911...!!!!!
    :barf:
