Nice one Oleg.

As recently as February 2004, firefighters,
police, and emergency personnel in Kansas City were blasted with a hail of 50
caliber rounds that left gaping holes in fire trucks and an ambulance—fired by a gun
crazy fanatic who eventually died in a fiery siege.

Found this in a PDF what exactly are they talking about I dont remember this.

We should not be arming the terrorists with
such destructive weapons of war. It is time to regulate 50 caliber sniper rifles by
bringing them under the National Firearms Act, so that local and federal law
enforcement agencies will, at the very least, know who has them.

Ok Ok what was that country that sold a bunch of .50cals to Iran?hmm...and then they showed up in Iraq?

Also does anyone take them seriously? Because I would say that most of the data and crap on their site is still copyrighted for 1999.

VPC doesn't like the caseless ammo? They must really hate revolvers then since they don't leave casings behind .

...revolvers, single shots, shell catchers, English double rifles, SxS and O/U shotguns.

And anyone that picks up after themselves.

Edited to add: one of the things I like about VPC is that they leave stuff up in apparent perpetuity. A 1993 gift that keeps on giving.

Very, very nice.

"Sport-utility" has a bad connotation with me, but it can be an apt term.
I'm actually sad that weapon is the blurriest because it seems like that's
the type of weapon that suffers the most from ignorance.

SoCalShooter, that would be Steyr, in Austria. And they offered to not sell them to Iran in exchange to reopening the US civilian market to their rifles. All that would've been necessary is for Bush to get rid of his dad's little 1989 excecutive order.

I was trying to use unrefrenced facts to prove a point that nothing on their web page actually happens to even remotely close to trying to protect us.

I'd never even heard of that organization until I read this thread. So after looking at their website all I can say is, nuts. Who the heck founded that organization?

That's because the term is applied to vehicles who cannot be used for sport or utility, making the term near-useless in that respect. (Take a Lincoln Navigator off-road? Yeah, right.)

However, for semi-auto rifles like the AR, SU-16, Mini-14, AK, and others, it's very apt -- they can be directly used for "sport" (even if it punching holes in paper or tin cans) or "utility" (defense against any number of things, moving tin cans from one location to another, forcibly disassembling milkjugs and cans of soda, pest control, etc.).

The study recommends that:

Want to bet that the government sponsored study is going to say anything but guns are good?
:scrutiny:

I like , I like... the deer rifle is a nice touch. This addresses target shooters, cowboy action, and hunters who think they are immune from the antis. Good work!:)

Actually, the "VPC" does, every once in a very great while, do something of value.

Couple of years back, their famous "Ring Of Fire" [ahem] 'expose' about the makers of the cheap handguns (AKA Sattidy Nite Spezials), they posted copies of the instruction manuals for some of the cheapies..Ravens, Lorcins, etc. Got the schematics, expanded views, and dis-assembly/re-assembly instructions for the Phoenix/Raven .25 Auto.

Took apart/cleaned/lubed/checked/re-assembled Sissy's Raven. Works as designed now...goes bang! every time on request. Plus, the Raven holds minute of pie-plate at 7 Yds...decent for an ultra-cheapy 'Rodent Weapon' in my hands.

\\\Back the the original post.....I like this one a bunch. Pretty much makes the point that the anti want ALL privately-owned firearms.
