Well I was able to finally properly fit the Wilson beavertail grip safety, and new MSH on my first 1911. The ambi safety pin had to be filed down quite a bit as it would bind when the grip safety was engaged. The saftey would stick in. Took me a bit to figure out, as this is all new to me, but it sure was fun to do. I learned alot through the process. I've been laid up with a bum shoulder for a while, I'm almost ready to put some rounds through her soon.

Good job. I recently fitted a Greider Precision trigger and a Wilson Combat Beavertail to my Colt ORM Series 80 1911. Took some time, but i'm really happy now that it is done.

My XSE is my favorite 1911. I had new trigger parts, AMSH/magwell, hammer & trigger job done to it. I have a tad over 10,000 rounds through it & she's been the perfect lady the entire time! Congrats on yours!

Thanx for al the nice comments. Get this, I decided to take her out for some first shots at the range. Got everything ready to go, put the target down range about 10yds. Loaded up a mag., loaded up the pistol, got my site picture, pulled trigger, and NOTHING!!!! No boom, no bang no NOTHING!!!! So I waited to see if it was a delay, nothing. Dropped the mag, pulled back the slide, out comes the unfired round, and the bottom half of the firing pin plunger, or what ever it is called. It broke in two. So, now I'm pissed!!! Should I call Colt, or just take to my smith? What a disappointment:cuss:

Get the part from Brownells that does away with all the 80 series parts. Then problem solved 5 bucks . If you wish to keep they should have replacement parts. Might happen when you most need it. I don't really see a reason for it. I ain't worried about it being a issue in a trail either.
