Gotta love 1911's... so easy to make them uniquely yours!
Here's my new XSE Government which I personalized a bit. I like Colt's new XSE a lot, but also prefer a few traditional features (arched MSH, single sided mil-spec thumb safety) and on a contemporary-styled 1911, I like a modern beavertail grip safety... so my XSE has become a unusual blend of old and new:
I modified this gun with parts I happened to just have on hand, so I'm guessing a bit on the actual cost of the parts, but this is what I have into the gun:
XSE new 795
Wilson Drop in grip safety 35
Brown serrated, arched msh 35
Brown GI-short guide rod 10
Kimber Match Two-hole trigger 20
Kimber Eclipse Grips 30
Colt mil-spec single sided safety 20
Approx. outlay ============945
These changes were easy to do myself and required no refinishing of the gun.
So far with a few hundred rounds downrange, flawless reliability right out-of-the-box... typical of recent production Colts. I can highly recommend Colt's current production 1911s, and this XSE is no exception.
