I like this one.
It's concise, to the point and the photograph is exceptional.

But...
I assume you are portraying hunting with an AK?

I ask because my first impression was that this would be a support poster for after they tried to take all the guns away and the revolution had started.

My second impression was hunting.

If this is Zumboish

You should be using a AR as that is what he attacked and then said that he shot and reversed his opinion on.

If you had just said AK I would have gotten your meaning.
I had never heard of an AKM before.

Wonderful thinking and action, as always.

How about a Skeet shooter and a Service rifle shooter in the same photo with this same message idea?

Thanks for your good works.

Good Theme

eric.c -- Dude, it's just you. Yer gettin' coal in yer stockingz this year.

Oleg -- is there some way to generalize AK into auto-loader without making the caption longer?

I like the picture and the concept. I just got up, and one of my brain cells won't cooperate with the other, but the "ugly gun protects pretty gun" thing works for me.

Hmmm. There's a funky caption: His ugly rifle protects your classic rifle.

More coffee.

Not quite sure who he is, what it is, or what he's doing with it.

And yes, he made me think of Saddam. With an AK. Shooting. From concealment.

Nice pic - to those who "get it". Not sure it works for the less informed.

I'd say AK, and have him target shooting or something. A guy hiding the in the tall grass is not a good image to portray, even though we all know it's not meant to be evil.

Old Guys

And yes, he made me think of Saddam.
Y'know, all you old guys look the same to me.

Tall grass? Ain't that how huntin's done?

I suppose it could be that he ain't huntin', and I suppose that could be ambiguous.

Hmmm.

Let's ask the photographer.

Honestly, I like the first wording better. "His semi-auto protects your levergun" or somesuch. Or some variant of "sporting rifles, like people, come in great variety."

So.....

IS that Saddam Hussein????????????? (It REALLY does look like him!) :what: The caption seems a little unfocused, but honest, the pic looks like Saddam shooting from cover.

To me, it's kinda funny in the way ya'll perceive it. First off, the 2nd Amendment ain't about hunting or target shooting either one. However, hunting, target shooting, and the defense of Liberty and Freedom fit together very very tightly... they always have. As to the positions folks choose to hunt from, most hunting I know or have done hasn't been in the tall grass; I lean on a tree or have a seat strapped to the tree. Most hunters I know would rather be 12-20' up a tree in a deer stand. But then, up a tree has long been used as a sniper's hide too. And I have thought that if I could go prone to shoot, which is also used by western hunters in some situations, I could hunt from a different position in the field I usually watch. So up a tree isn't exclusive to hunting and prone in tall grass isn't exclusive to sniping.

I'm agreeing with the general idea of the subject poster too. Give 'em one type of semi-autos and they'll declare a mandate to take it all.

All this posting about the guy looking like Saddam... there's been a few guys I've seen walking around since the beginning of Gulf War 1 who looked very much like him. That didn't cause me to think they were bad guys or anything. To bad folks are so hung up on looks.
