My little brother is buying a Kimber and is giving me first dibs on buying his Springfiled XD .357 for $400 to fund his purchase. Any known issues, or problems with the gun? He didnt' shoot very much, actually bought it from the original owner, which is a mutual friend of ours who bought it new last year or so from a local shop here, whom also didn't shoot it very much.

I've got a bonus coming up in a few weeks and it's already burnt a hole through my pocket. Was going to buy a nice CCW, but I may use my .38 snubbie for that.

I'm on my way over to check it out, would just like some opinions good or bad to help form my own decision. Thanks!

Ive never seen a .357 XD, but every other one I have seen/owned/fired has been an excellent gun in the other calibers.

I love mine. It has been 100% reliable and is very accurate.
I reload, so the cost of 357Sig is not an issue, plus it allows me to see what the round can really do. 1350fps with a 125gr is the usual factory load, but you can do much better if you reload, or buy from Buffalo Bore, or Double-Tap.

they are excellent guns, it dosen't matter what caliber or size, and .357 sig just happens to be my preference for a defensive cartridge they are great. the xd's are fine weapons and you will be happy with it.

The XD is excellent but I'm not a big fan of the .357Sig caliber. Too expensive, too loud, and too much muzzle blast.

I fired a mag through a (borrowed) XD in 357 Sig once, and it was a blast. A big, loud blast :)

However, whether it was my grip, or just not being used to the round, my accuracy was poor -- far worse than my (minute of pie-plate) usual shooting, even. However, the gun is inherently a good shooter -- its owner was getting very tight groups offhand at the same 25-30 ft distances at which I was scattering 8-10" ones.

I did not try to fire it single-handed, and wouldn't want to weak-hand it without quite a bit more getting-used-to-it ;)

I love mine. As already stated, it is literally a 'blast' to fire. With 12+1 Double-Tap 147gr, it's defenitly my 'go-to' handgun.

@ 15yd, off-hand, 1-shot/sec, 124gr Georgia Arms factory reloads (measures just a hair under 2 1/2")

It easily rivals the Sig P239 I have in the same caliber, in terms of accuracy.

I think the XD's are good guns. I don't care for the .357sig at all. Waaaay too loud for me.
