Nice find and at a good price. Be sure to clean the firing pin channel and firing pin, make sure no grease or goo in there. You may want to investigate the very nice Pierce grips for these pistols. Makes for a soft, positive grip.

Richard where did you get those stainless ones? I really want to have my Mak either chromed or made to look like yours.

Sadly, Makarov.com no longer does slide milling to fit Novak sights, and Novak no longer makes them for the Mak

I just went through a few hundred Wolf for a shooting class with no problems. If the ammo is for plinking, get the Wolf - it's cheaper.

Love the Makarov's. Mine is Russian though but there all the same design.

I bet you'll enjoy it. I think the Mak, with its fixed barrel, has amazing accuracy considering its small sights and short sight radius.

Although it doesn't fire an enormous cartridge, mine had a sharp recoil impulse that really stung my hand. If this happens to you, consider a stronger Wolff recoil spring and a Pearce rubber grip. They made a huge difference for me.

You might want to check out this ammo. I'm not sure of the price on Wolf 9X18mm but I think this is a good price. http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo.htm They have 1,000 rounds for $175.

Nice gun. My first pistol was a Bulgy Mak. They've definitely jumped in price, though, in the last three years since I got mine. You used to be able to get them for $130 no problem.

I would get neither. I dont think 9x18 penetrates well enough with jhp and wolf has had problems in the past specifically 100grain conical fmj.

I think the 95grain wolf fmj MC is ok though.

I like MFS 95 grain ball from SOG.
