I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for a good gun store in the DFW area. I've been wanting to buy some sort of ak to go with my sks, and heck the 4th of July would be a great day to buy an "evil military rifle"(if they are open).

Also where I got my sks at cabelas where they have wasr-10s for $400+ is this a fair price in this area?(though they won't sell me a rifle anyways since I'm under 21(I'm 19).

There's a gun range/shop in East Plano, whose name eludes me right now, but it's got a horde of Assault Weapons. There's also another indoor range near the Airport that is an AW powerhouse.

If you feel super spendy, you could always check out the Beretta Gallery, but make sure you wear a shirt and tie first (trust me, go once in a pair of jeans and you'll know what I mean).

The Bullet Trap and Gunmaster are both in East Plano. Both have good selections of weapons.

For purchase, I would go with Gunmaster over Bullet Trap. Gun Master has better prices.

It has been over year since I have been there, but CHeaper Than Dirt's physical location in Fort Worth had good prices on AKs when I was there.

I would normally suggest Military Gun Supply in East Fort Worth for a large selection of AK types, but after the burglary yesterday I don't know when they will reopen. Cheaper Than Dirt usually has OK prices on AK's and generally has several configurations in stock. On a side note, Cabelas won't sell a rifle to someone under 21?

I like gun shows and FTF sales. I have bought a few fron shooters at the gun range when the have a gun they don't know how to shoot or dislike for some reason (too loud or kicks too hard).

I only buy from parts and doodads from gun shops. But thats just me. I think the reason is I don't have room for more yet :)

What a great problem that is!
Downside to that is...
I have to add on to the house now or move to a bigger one.
I have no room for a comfortable reloading setup.

With the economy the way it is, check the newspapers for some good deals
Also check the police or sherrifs auctions. You have to be a FFL to purchase but check and if you see the perfect rifle you want then right after make an offer to the FFL that bought that lot that has the gun you want.

The DFW gun range over off mockingbird by Love Field isn't a bad place - When I lived in Dallas I used to shoot there a lot - it's a great indoor range and, at least a few years ago, had an awesome live fire computerized sim program - pricey, but neat to try - but their prices seemed reasonable - but living in dallas I'd call around and ask what kind of selection these
places have with the kind of rifle you're looking for.

I found some adds in the newspaper I cut out a while, has anyone heard of Target Masters, B&S Guns, or McClellend Gun Shop?

"On a side note, Cabelas won't sell a rifle to someone under 21?"
The guy working there kept telling me "It is federal law"...
