This thread is hopefully a place to update Ron Paul supporters of upcoming campaign information, and to post sightings, videos, etc. The point is, this is the place for good information regarding the candidate in question, Ron Paul.

Please help keep this thread on topic. Questions, comments, etc are good but if you want to argue a point for more than a couple comments, please start your own thread about that specific point. That way, the RP thread will be concise and wont require an immense amount of reading to find the most up to date RP information.

This is the most breaking news I have on the campaign:

Come see Congressman Ron Paul speak at a rally of his Bay Area supporters this
Saturday, June 14th! Dr. Paul will share his message of freedom, peace and
prosperity at Charleston Park, right next door to Google HQ and near Shoreline
Park.

The rally will begin at 10 AM, and run till the early afternoon. Be sure to
bring a lawn chair, a shady hat, and plenty of water so you can enjoy the
Congressman and the lovely California sun.

If you are interested in live-blogging at the rally, please bring your laptop
and create a Google account.

More information can be found at website for the event, www.RonPaulRally.com

Also featured at this event will be G. Edward Griffin, author of "The Creature
From Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve"; Justin Raimondo of
Antiwar.com; Joe Bannister, founder of Freedom Above Fortune, and Iraq War
veteran Joe Wheeler.

We hope all supporters of Ron Paul in California will take advantage of this
great opportunity to hear the Congressman.

See you there!

Place:
Charleston Park 1665 Charleston Road
Mountain View, California 94043

Time:
10:00 AM- 12:00 PM

Quick question,

IF Dr. Paul fails to get the Republican nomination and runs as an Independant, who's planning on continuing to support him?

(Yeah, I know he said he wouldn't.)

Personally, I will vote for him even if it means a write in. I know several others on THR feel the same way.

For me, it's not about who can win or the lesser of 2 evils. I've voted 4 times for president, and all 4 times I voted for the one I thought wouldn't mess up the country worse than it is. This time, I will vote for the one person I want in office.

It's all personal preference really, but I think with the way his campaign is growing (monetarily and public persona) he has a chance.

I'll continue to support him. I registered as a Republican to support him (switched from a registered Democrat to do so). None of the other Republicans are liberal enough for me. :)

That sounds quite honorable and I doubt anyone will argue with you for voting your conscience.

I absolutely believe you and wish you luck.

I think some of us, however, are on the lookout for trolls trying to split Republican support. I'm all for voting for Dr. Paul in the Primaries. I think continuing to support him if he fails is a vote for the gun grabbers. History is our friend. We should pay attention to her.

Yeah, I switched from Dem to Pubbie just for RP. I had been holding out as a 'mole' in the Dem party so I could vote in the primaries for the candidate least likely to win, then voting for the Pubbie in the end. I felt it gave me an infinitesimally small advantage over the normal method.
As I've said elsewhere, I'm tired of voting for the lesser of the two evils as I've had to do since '56. This time I'm going to vote for the best man - whether or not he gets the nomination!

I hear you loud and clear Thumper, and I remember all too vividly the Perot debacle.

It's still to early to tell what's going to happen. In the mean time, I'm registered republican and working on becoming a gop delegate. I will try everything possible to get Paul the nomination, and hopefully others will do the same. (see the address in my first post if you're interested)

I will say one thing though, Guiliani will never get my vote. Period. ;)

So, isn't there a Ron Paul board where one can discuss Ron Paul and Rosie O'Donnell's political theories?

Stephanopoulous tells Ron Paul flat out it's not gonna happen. A clue to how much the media chooses some candidates and tries to exclude others..
Stephanopoulous needs to tell that to Rudy and the other republican clowns running for the presidential nomination. I guess Stephanopoulous opposes the American Dream.

If this. . .

Come see Congressman Ron Paul speak at a rally of his Bay Area supporters this Saturday, June 14th!

. . .is breaking news, the man has no chance at all.:neener:

Its pretty much a given that he will not get the nomination-I will write him in and ALOT of people I know will do the same.

What cracks me up is the folks that think Fred is the new savior. He has no shot either and if they stole the election somehow I bet after 2 or 3 years you wouldn't find anyone that would admit to voting for 4 more years of the same old crap.

I surely do not think Fred is a savior, but I do think he has a shot. His support(according to polls) is in the top 3 and he hasn't even announced a bid yet..
What will hurt Fred is his too young wife and her provocative dresses.

Right now I would say that the large amount of support for Fred Thompson is more a sign of dissatisfaction with the current candidates than with any real support of Fred himself.

There is no significant difference in the policies of Bush and Thompson. When people realize this, Thompson's support will fade. Nobody wants four more years of Bush.
