Interesting video from Google who had invited Ron Paul to speak.

The more I hear him the more I understand why the Republican party fears him. He's honest, direct and articulate. He also as one questioner pointe out late in the video someone who supports his argument with historical reference...something the other candidates do not do.

I'm impressed!
He speaks about personal liberties very truly.
Especially liked the quote "if it's an automatic weapon or not, it shouldn't matter" :what::what::what:
I like this guy.
Hope he stands a chance!

This was a great interview. It is probably longer than most will listen to, folks seem to like 30 second sound bytes. I think Dr.Paul explained his positions pretty well.
I don't think Elliot Schrage was ready for Ron Paul. He seemed to be expecting a politician and met the Doctor instead. He seemed taken by surprise.

Great video. How can people say he does not have a chance? His arguments are so logical I think it makes some people uncomfortable. As soon as people get over thinking that they don’t want to waste their vote on him, I am sure he will see a huge spike in numbers. He appeals to anyone with common sense regardless of party affiliation.

I would like to donate some money to his campaign but I don’t want to fill out that form. Is there any other way to donate?

Why don't you want to fill out the form?

I think the forms were created to provide transparency in politics. People have a right to know that James donated X amount of dollars for his own personal political evil purposes. ;)

Remember Heinlein's

The Moon is a harsh mistress? And Simon Jester's info campaign?

In front of my store, one side of my reader board now reads, "Google Ron Paul". Another idea I have not acted on is to print posters or fliers with appropriate Paul quotes and positions and spend the $.50 to open the local paper box early in the morning and add one to each newspaper inside.

Add links to his best videos and campaign website to your website.
Add a signature line to your emails and postings.
Put fliers on local bulletin boards.
Think up your own no cost guerrilla 'red cell of one' marketing campaign.

Related- A man in his 80's, a longtime customer and friend, but absolutely relentless in his demagogic sycophancy for the Repubs and the Bush/Cheney Imperial Machine was outraged today when I discovered that individual's campaign contributions records are available online for public use at the FEC website.

So you are right to be concerned if you don't want that $10 contribution you made to Tanya Robert's congressional campaign made public.

Fortunately, anyone can be Simon Jester.

I called a few people I sent the youtube link to today and not one had previously heard of Ron Paul. Each one was impressed with the video. I guess the real battle is getting his name out there and the rest will take care of itself. Ajkurp, I like your idea of printing out flyers and putting them on bulletin boards. If you get a design made up can you post it so others can help distribute? I will start collecting some flyer quotes also.

In the spirit of Simon Jester, I suggest you guys take such discussions off line. ANYBODY can read posts here and messing with the Sunday paper could be construed as vandalism.

Sorry, James. I'm a cell of one. And the paper idea isn't original with me. But I'm going to use it.

Decentralization is what gives us strength.

Undoubtedly you are crafty enough to come up with your own flier.

OTHER important Ron Paul info for those new to my distribution list:

Most on my distribution list have seen the below "Don't Tread on Me" vid, which BEST tells the Ron Paul story. AWESOME vid, so pass it on to your friends!

And, pass on this one on you have probably seen - Ron taking it to Rudy:

Ron mops floor with CNN anchor:

Note the bias in the media. Ron schools the above CNN anchor for asking if he is not Republican enough while Tucker gets it right and asks Ron if he is angry at the GOP for selling out:

Why Iraq war is unconstitutional and illegal, with Ron predicting EXACTLY what would happen before the war started:

Ron Paul's Record ---

The war in Iraq: Ron Paul voted against it from the beginning, recognizing the folly of nation-building and unconstitutional police actions that masquerade as legitimate wars while showing the good judgment that initially eluded most of the top Democratic presidential contenders and each and every Republican presidential contender. Unlike many of the top Republican presidential contenders, Ron Paul is now working to end it rather than extend it.

Government spending, debt, and taxes: If you're looking for a true fiscal conservative, look no further than Ron Paul. Most presidential candidates from both major parties call for new government programs, increased spending, and increased debt, even as they propose minuscule tax cuts or a gradual reduction in the budget deficit. Dr. Paul has consistently spoken and voted for reducing government spending, taxes, and debt, and has never voted for an unbalanced budget. It is time for our fiscal policy to be taken out of the hands of an ill-conceived war that has cost the American people hundreds of billions of tax dollars, greedy lobbyists representing exceptionally greedy big businesses that are in bed with politicians/government, excessive foreign aid, and wasteful U.S. government agencies so we can stop our ballooning budget and $9 trillion in debt that will bankrupt not only our government, but the future of our children and grandchildren.

Border Security and Immigration: Ron Paul believes a nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when the door at home is unlocked. We need to physically secure our borders and coastlines, enforce visas, no amnesty, no welfare for illegal aliens and end birthright citizenship. Current reform packages would still allow over 60 million illegal immigrants into our country, while costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars in regards to the entitlements these illegal immigrants receive. Ron Paul believes those waiting in line legally should have their fair shot at the American dream.

Individual liberty: If you believe that government officials have the right to listen in on your phone calls, open your mail, monitor your financial transactions, view your medical records and track your Internet activity, Ron Paul is definitely not your candidate. He voted against the Patriot Act and against the Real ID Act. Dr. Paul will always defer to the fundamental American liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights, rather than playing on false fears to increase government power and control.

Property Rights: Ron Paul believes property rights are the foundation of all rights in a free society and is against special interests and the government violating property rights and forcing American citizens from their homes, businesses, farms and ranches.

Personal integrity: If you're looking for a candidate who will end politics as usual, and has the record to prove it, consider these statements from Ron Paul's presidential website, ronpaul2008.com:

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

I watched the entire hour-long clip linked in the OP. My previous exposure to Ron Paul was an occasional thread perused here and the minimal televised debates air time. If you are a dullard, closed to new ideas, do not watch it. If you want to be challenged and enjoy rational, logical discussion, watch it. I do not know who I will support in the Primaries or General Election, but that was definitely an hour well spent. If you are willing to listen, Ron Paul definitely will give you a lot to think about.

andy,
I certainly hope you're right, but I'm not so sure. Several of the campaigns are blowing their war-chests on Iowa buying buses, admission, and food (all on the promise that the "supporter" will vote for them).
We're doing all we can with carpooling, voter sponsors, etc. but I remain dubious that Iowa voters will be immune to the corruptive influence of people trying to buy their votes.
