Sorry if this is a dupe but H.R. 1897 National Park Second Amendment Restoration and Personal Protection Act of 2007 - Prohibits any federal regulation from restricting any individual from possessing or carrying a firearm if that restriction is based upon the fact that the individual is in a unit of the National Park System. Shouldn't it be a states rights issue? I mean if the park is in the state shouldn't the state get to decide whether guns should be allowed in the parks or not?

We need to weaken the Federal government not strengthen it.

Keyword being "National". Thus making it a Federal issue.

I don't disagree with you on the less power for Gov't part though. Just doesn't apply in this case.

+1, less expansive federal government, with no removal of my rights just because i'm on 'their' property. even though we pay for it.
