I mistakingly bought 250rds of this stuff and am wonedring if it's okay to shoot through my 629. I called Hornady(they're great, answered quick and took time to help a non-paying customer) and the told me it was safe according to the World of cartridge reloading book. I just looking for a second opinion or your experiences with the cartridge.

Oh, it's safe alright. --but I see this as the perfect excuse to find/purchase one of those recently available Model 3 replicas. . . . ;)

Even if you don't reload, I would save that brass.

I'm sure that it would sell and help recoup some of the cost of the ammo.

Have fun shooting it. Like others have said, clean your chambers well after shooting it.

sportsmansguide.com has FIOCHI 240 grain LRN 44 russian for a mere 13.75/box of 50. Sure its FIOCHI but if you reload its great cheap brass.

Its true SAAMi spec ammo, well within all guidelines for cowboy action shooting to, but then again the original loadings already are...
