So there I wuz . . .
. . . at Sportsman's Warehouse in Reno today.
Asked my usual question: "What's new and exciting?"
Nothing. Except that they rearranged the wall of pistols so I don't know where anything is any more.
Young fella at the counter knows me (weekly pilgrimage and all that), and says, "here's something for you, see if you can figure out what's different."
Hands me a SIG P226. Price tag in the mid-500s. I look it over, try the action, dry fire, scrutinize, and so on. Other than the odd price, I don't get it. Then he shows me the wear on the outer wall of the chamber.
Huh. That's a lot of wear for a new gun.
"Refurbished. They're sending us refurbished guns as 'new' at reduced prices."
I'll be darned.
Anyone else seen this?
