Can anyone tell me what the slot milled in the middle of the factory adjustment tool that came with my 550 is for?
The end is a screwdriver for the trigger, but I'll be darned if I can figure out what the slot is meant to do!!!
Thanks!!!!

I don't have a CZ 550,

but could if be like the Mosin tool and used to check the firing pin protrusion? Hopefully someone here will have a definitive answer for you.

CZ told me it is for disassembling the bolt.

That could well be. However, the manual describes disassembly via the release on the bolt body but "does not recommend" further disassembly" so the tool was kind of a mystery!

Beats me. I have a CZ and my mystery tool reads ZKK600, ZKK601, ZKK602.
Two trigger sets came with this .308 rifle, one a CZ single set-trigger and the other a conventional hunting trigger.

I know what you mean I just got my 550 back from having the scope mounted and I asked the gunsmith what it was for and he said he had no clue . Everyone else in the shop couldn't tell me either .

From my email to CZ.......

From: Mike Eagleshield [mailto:[email protected]]Sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2007 4:29 PMTo: 'Brian Welch'Subject: RE: FROM CZ-USA WWW - CZ 550 The large pear shaped cutout is designed to slide over the end of the firingpin and wedge into the firing pin spring. This will allow the weight of the spring to be taken off the spring keeper, allowing it to be unscrewed enough to remove the retaining ring and thenscrewing off the keeper. This is of course after the striker assy has been removed from the bolt body.

OK, now we know! Thanks for explaining the use of this strange looking tool. I have never dissembled my rifle's bolt in 40 years and it still shoots fine. The screw-driver end of the tool is quite useful.
