I was looking at a savage 110 in 338 win mag today, and I noticed it had a slightly different bolt than I was used to seeing on 110s. The bolt head is different-it protrudes forward of the the locking lugs by about 3/8", and it has a metal clip partly circling the bolt head, with tabs that look like they might be designed to help with extraction by gripping the case. The ejector is mounted in the magwell and goes through a slot in the bolt, and the large screw at the end of the bolt is nearly flat and is knurled instead of having a hex-shaped hole or a slot for a screwdriver.
Can anyone tell me the general age of this gun, and if the differences in the bolt impair function at all? It's wood-stocked.

Also, when was the 338 win mag added to the savage lineup?
