In 30-06.

I am thinking about buying one. Does anyone here have/had one? Are they any good? How does the kick compare to the Marlin 1895 guide gun in 45-70?

Thanks.

I have one in .30-06. It was the rifle version, not carbine, but I had the barrel cut to 20" and a recoil pad put on. Also a Williams ramp front sight and rear aperture sight.

After these changes, I like it a lot.

The steel plate on these reproductions is not the best thing for .30-06, IMO, unless you are trying for some kind of historical accuracy.

The quality is there, and the fixed box magazine isn't that hard to work with once you use it a while.

Tang safety is unobtrusive, and makes me feel marginally better when unloading.
