SIG Revolution. Lock?

Nope, I had a SS railed model...its just an extracter screw with a weird head so you have to take it somewhere special to have it worked on lol


definitely not a lock though...cause mine came with no key and looked exactly the same.

I don't think that's a lock, but I don't actually know. I must admit I am curious as to what it is.

That's a great looking pistol. I could actually buy one of those if it wasn't for that abomination aft of the ejection port. At least it doesn't have a cheese grater.

I got the same pistol and price thru the military/police pricing, there's no lock.

I ass-u-med it was a lock like the ILS, guess not. Are these Sigs series 70 or 80 pattern? I wonder if they mate with aftermarket parts or not.

Can you please tell me where a civilian can pick one of these up for $731 shipped??!!

I may be the bearer of bad news here

The little circular plug with the two holes in it is not a lock. It is merely a threaded plug used to access/retain the firing pin block parts in the slide, used on early production models. The holes are presumably to insert a special spanner wrench into. I suspect they had too many problems with parts flying out of the slide while shooting, as mine did. Not only did the plug come out and get lost (presumably mixed up with the brass on the range floor), but so did the firing pin block plunger, and probably some other parts (e.g., springs) as well. My replacement gun does not have this part.

If it gives you trouble -- as I suspect it will -- Sigarms does at least have good customer service.

The picture you posted looks like the one on the Sig website. That’s not the current configuration of their Revolution, which seems to change slightly every so often. Here’s mine, purchased a few months ago. Notice there is no man-hole cover and the hammer is shiny stainless and not filled like the one in your picture.

Umm, I was really considering a Nitron finished SIG GSR but the silver colored hammer just turned me off... now I'm thinking go all stainless. And I'm not a big fan of the walnut/rosewood colored grips.

Buddy of mine just picked one up. Stainless with a rail. $799. And... he got a mail-in certificate for a free 3rd mag. Sweet!

Mine is a Carry (4 1/4" barrel like a Colt Commander), all stainless with a matte grey color and a very dark wood in the grips. I would have to check the Sigarms site, but I think it is called "diamondwood," whatever that is. (I thought diamonds were in deep holes in the ground, not in trees. ) Anyway, it is a nice looking gun ... although it still has a shiny hammer.

Something else to consider about the SIG 1911: it will not fit into a holster that is rigidly, closely fitted to a "standard" 1911, due to its more squarish slide.
