Sigs

I just turned 21 and also (*garyr) bought a P226 in .40. I haven't got to shoot it yet, looking forward to a couple hundred rounds when I go home for Christmas.

For some reason the second picture isn't loading for me. What is it??

It is my P-6.

Mine weren't finished at all. I have been coating them with lemon oil like suggested on the Sig Forum.

The 226 grips were damaged when I got them, but they are out of grips now so I will keep them. On the left side, at the bottom, the corner was missing. I guess that just adds more character to an old gun.

I also got a set for a 220. I decided not to put them on my newer 220 and I am going to find an older 220 to put them on.

Walnut oil will work quite nicely as well--I prefer it as a wood finish.
It will darken the wood slightly though.

Personally, for wood grips that I would use, three to five coats of poly would probably be what I'd put on them. Or if I was feeling nutty, a few applications of marine grade epoxy, only because I have it sitting around. (I build wooden boats as well as sell Sigs).

Y'all are not kidding about addiction! I just traded a rifle toward a P229 SAS, and ordered a couple more TJ Custom triggers from Brownells. Two P229s in less than two weeks!

I think you're going to love it. I shot 200 rounds at the range the other day and it shoots even better than the rentals, which I'm sure get quite a work out. I can't wait to get some more bullets and go back...probably this Saturday.

Ref, that's a damn good-looking P228. Wow! That subtle wear gives it character. Looks like you aren't afraid of getting it out of the safe and actually carrying it. Kudos to you!

I'd love to use wood grips but the only ones I've ever had were on a 1911 and the sweat from IWB turned the left panel much darker than the other one. I've been using synthetics ever since.

I'm curious to know if any of the New Sig Sauers are/will be available in CA? Does adding a beaver tail actually qualify as a different model?

Well Sig #2 is on its way, I ordered a 556 optics ready From Bud's Gun Shop.

New Sig

This past weekend I traded in my .40 cal P229 w/ some cash for a Revolution GSR C3. It is decidedly more aesthetically pleasing than the 229. Incidentally, does anyone know who manufactures the mags that come w/ the C3?

This week, I added a SIG 556 and a Mosquito to my SIG collection to make it a total of four with my P226 and P220.
I got my P226 (9mm) when I was stationed in Germany with the USAF. The sad part is that I shot my the SIG 556 and Mosquito, today...I am not very happy with the latter.
It doesn't equate to the other pistols I have...plastic trigger, weak magazine spring, and very picky about ammo.
The SIG 556 works like a champ...feeds, fires, and ejects brass like a "beast"...forward and far to the right with authority; I didn't worry about hitting my neighbor with spent brass at the range, today, like I do when I fire my Ruger Mini-14.
I am not really sure or sold on the Holosight that SIG sold me...$145 wasted?..seems a little "cheesy". Any suggestions or ideas on optics?

Well... my sig collection is growing. I already have a sig rifle (556), I enjoy it so much that I had been interested in looking at a sig handgun.

Last night I went to "LOOK" at a Sig P229R...
An well... one thing led to another, the cash in my pocket was suddenly gone, the next thing I remeber I was driving home and had this beauty in my car with me.

I'm taking it to the local range after work today!!!

Just picked up my third. I now have a P226 to go along with my P225 and a P239 in .40S&W.

I just bought a 229... that Ltd. Edition 226 looks NICE!!!! What price do you have on those???

I've had a non-rail P220 for the past year or so and just recently picked up a P225. It's hard to explain the "why" with these guns. They just "feel" right. Sig's are just such nice, solid, high quality guns. I will own more yet, even if I end up living in a van down by the river.

What do TJ's custom triggers do? Are they the same or different than Sig's Short trigger?

I just, sheesh, not ten minutes ago told a friend that I was all pistoled out. Had one for every need.

I went to lunch with a friend yesterday. He has had some medical problems lately and is a bit short on cash. With Christmas coming he asked me if I wanted to buy one of his Sigs. I know this was hard on him because he loves his Sigs like I do.

Sig # 15 P226 9mm KB and I bought his unused threaded barrel to go with it.

TJ Customs triggers are narrower than the standard factory trigger, and rounded, allowing the finger to roll across the trigger face in DA shooting. The TJ trigger is not a shorter trigger; LOP is about the same as the standard trigger.
