Range reports/Feedback on CZ-75B?

Ya, after you buy your first one. A second one will follow- and a third, fourth, ect.

Range report?......how about the ability to make 2" groups at 25yrds with all 14rds in the magazine? That's what my P-01 can do:


I'm getting a CZ 75b stainless(maybe the new 97bd) when I get my tax refund, although I've owned the CZ 75bd, CZ SP-01, and CZ 97b in the past. In my opinion the classic CZ 75b(or bd) is the best overall pistol in the CZ lineup. Just the right amount of weight, balance, accuracy, reliability, and ergonomics. You can't go wrong with the classic CZ 75.

Buy it, you won]t be dissapointed. I am quite biased towards them, and I have fired every major make/model available, especially when I ran a rental range. Great sidearms.

I've got one, a 75B in 9mm. It's a decent gun, not as great as many would have you believe but a good solid pistol. I did have a second one, a CZ40B which is the only pistol I ever got rid of. It never felt right for me and I was not accurate with it. My 75B is strictly a Barbeque gun (that's what we wear when we get all gussied up) so it doesn't get shot that much. My regular carry guns are BHP's for comparison, I've got 4 of them in .40 and 2 in 9mm. The other pistols I shoot regularly for IDPA are a Witness Elite Match (CZ clone-single action only) and a Springfield XD9 Tactical, both completely stock. The Witness is much more accurate and has a much better trigger than any of the above, but it's also way too big and with too light a trigger for me to carry.

My take on my 75B:
Accuracy is good but it's not a bullseye pistol, reliability has been 100% with all ammo tried, single action trigger pull is ok, double action pull is horrible, heavy and gritty. They point well for me, weight is very comfortable, and the sights are good.

If they fit your hand it's a good choice.



I sure feel pretty when I wear it out on the town.

Pros:
- Good pistol for the price.
- Heck, it's still a good pistol when you stack it up against things that cost $300 more.
- Finish is reasonably durable.
- They're wonderfully accurate for something that isn't a target pistol.
- Customer Service is supposed to be good. Never had to use it.

Cons:
- You have to dry fire them a 500 or so times for the trigger to smooth out. Not a big ding, really.
- You won't find holsters off the shelf at most places. Again, not a big ding, as we can just buy them online.

I don't think we've got too may CZ owners on here that regret their purchases. I've got two modern pistols (75B and RAMI in .40S&W) from them and love 'em. The older CZ-52 I own is a totally different animal, but it's fun.

I picked one up in a gun store, a while back. I was seriously impressed with the feel of the thing. It felt like it was made for my hand. Pretty soon, I managed to find one to borrow, to try shooting it. The very first mag tore a one ragged hole group, at 15 yards. When I thought about it, a gun that fits my hand that well, and is also that accurate, well I just had to buy one. On reflection, I would rather have gotten the CZ-75SA, or the CZ-85, but instead I bought the standard B-model.

Unfortunately, it had a pretty major glitch, as NIB. Something about the sear and hammer notch engagement wasn't quite right. Several times per mag, the trigger would fail to reset, and when pulled, the hammer wouldn't fall. Eventually, I found a 'smith willing to dig in and fix it. His usual work is with Cowboy guns, and 1911s and such. He wound up only charging me $30 to fix it, but said that if he'd charged based on the time it took to figure out the remarkably complex CZ design, I'd have probably owed him the gun. Anyhow, it works now, and I'm looking forward to getting to play with it a lot more, now.

I have an SP01 and a buddy has a 75B and a 75 Compact. All have been 100% reliable every time I've shot them and shoot very accurately.

My only gripe is the trigger on my SP01 is the worst trigger I've ever encountered on a handgun. Creep and grit that goes on for miles. I've fired/dry-fired that gun several thousand times and it has never improved a bit. I'm just about ready to send it to a gunsmith for serious help.

Con: I made the mistake of letting my wife shoot mine. Now I have to go buy another one, she won't give it back.
