FYI

I noticed that ammo went up on Remington 9mm HP 100ct by $3 a box to $23 (or so). I checked on others and found similar increases. I'm not trying to compare to the below WWB deals. It was just what caught my eye.

I saw that WWB 9mm FMJ was still at $15.72 and WWB .45 FMJ at $28.98. I thought, hmm, I better just get a few before they go up.

I noted my observation to the cashier. She said she just put on the new prices on the Remington ammo this week and Federal the week before. She then said Winchester prices are getting updated next week. I'm glad I stopped to check prices.

If you are/were still shocked at the last price increase like me. You probably don't want to wait for the next one.

Blaser Brass went up at my local walmart just recently also. I thought it was a great steal for some time that .45acp was going for $11.99 a box. I went to get some two days ago and it was up to $14.99. I noticed the Remington and Federal was up also. I didn't take note of the winchester, because I avoid it if possible (Winchester and I don't get along anymore..hehe)

Could go into a long diatribe about how China is buying up much of the world's supply of lead as it builds numerous nuclear reactors and the end result on the commodities market, but that would be too much like what I do for a living.

Suffice to say relief in the worldwide lead supply is not expected until late 2009 or 2010. Don't expect ammo prices to even out until then.

OTOH, if we get McCain or Obama/Clinton for president it may not matter.

Load up, if you haven't already.

I love Uranium :D

Price Update

100ct 9mm is now 18.42 (was 15.72)
100ct .45 is now 29.88 (was 28.88)
100ct .38 is now 29.46 (was 25.??)

Crap, I knew I should have stocked up when I was there on Monday.

Yep, held off on my Walmart purchase today, seeing it at 18something, instead of 15something for 100ct 9mm. I can have my choice of $9 50cts of FMJ at my local gun shop instead at that price. I forgot to look at the .45 blazer brass, I normally buy that too, but I'm guessing it went up as well. At least I don't have an excuse to go to Walmart anymore, I really don't like that place anyway.

i would say an increased demand for copper in the computer industry is bringing up the cost of ammo. i would say that increasing fuel prices for various reasons is bringing up the cost of ammo. i would say being at war brings up the cost of ammo.

reloading 9mm wont save any money. reloading other calibers may save a lot of money. Reloading supplies have gone up proportionately to factory ammo in cost.

think about this when elections come up.
