in termintor 2, when sarah connor goes to kill miles benadyson, she first uses an m16/m4, you know what i mean, and after the m16 goes dry, she pulls out a 1911 long slide style pistol. whenever my friends see a pistol on tv, they ask me what it is cause they know that 82-90% of the time i know what it is... i did not know. please tell me.

So, are you buying or selling something? If the answer is no, you can re-ask your question in the Handgun: Autoloaders forum. Oh, look! We have a one-time limited offer of one free thread movement for newcomers. ;) I'll just slide this right over there...

While politeness apparently isn't one of Coronach's strong suits, rest assured that most of the other memeber's aren't quite so snippy.
I don't know who made the one in T2 but the first film featured an AMT longslide. By 1991 there were several manufacturers made a longslide version. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I believe it was a longslide Detonics.

BTW I think boots simply posted in the wrong forum by mistake. It happens even to "perfect" people.

I think dsk is right about it being a Detonics with an extended barrel.

The one on the bottom I believe:

thanks guys

info much appreciated, and i apologize for posting in the wrong forum

it was the one at the bottom of the pic that you showed but that was not the only one that she had.

Timbo, you know your thinking right when your trigger finger is straight on an electric drill. :D

Boots, no problemo - that's why we're here.

For some strange reason, I had bookmarked this bit of trivia.

A little known movie fact from Terminator II - Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) used a modified Detonics in the scene directly after she emptied her M16 into Miles Dyson's (Joe Morton) house. The gun was a Scoremaster frame with a Combatmaster slide and a comp'd barrel to make it look like a longslide. A former Detonics employee confirmed that the pistol was built years earlier but to everbody's knowledge was never used in a movie until years later when it came out in T2.

I had the drill down a while ago. Now I keep my finger straight on a bottle of windex. :)

What I was going for was humorously snippy. ;) :uhoh:

Mike :D

I am sorry for over-reacting Coronach, I have seen too many rude comments lately (not here but on the net) and I wasn't thinking. I am sorry if I came off as snippy myself.
Forgive?
:banghead:

What about the one used in the first movie? You know, the one with the Maglite sized laser on top? Anybody have any info?

It was an AMT Longslide as faustulus already mentioned.

And in the picture of Sarah Connor in the desert above, that was the Colt Combat Elite (or just a 2 tone) the Terminator took from the biker dude at the beginning of the movie. Sarah took the Colt from the Terminator's waistband in the elevator at the Mental Hospital while they were trying to escape. When she took them to her stash of weapons out in the desert she gave it back to the Terminator and retrieved her Detonics.

Yes, I've seen that movie too many times.

t3 didn't do it justice

in part two, he had a mini-gun and a grenade launcher. in t3 he has a 50 cal browning, or some type old design. he should have had a dual minigun setup or something of that nature. sequals should contain bigger guns.

If Linda Hamlitons charactor Sarah Conner as depicted in T2 was real she would be the sexest woman that ever lived.

You see alot of what look like Colt Combat Elites in T2. And strangely enough, that movie actually has some good gun handling... the Terminators frequently check to see if the 1911s they pick up are loaded or not, and you can see the finger-off-the-trigger of Linda above.

Haven't seen the movie yet but wasn't he using a Browning 1919?

I noticed that recently when I watched T2, after I had been reading this forum for at least a month. They frequently have their finger off the trigger, and at least once (though I'm sure many times more) when Linda's character mexi-holsters her 1911, she clicks on the thumb safety. If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't have even caught that. :)
