I would have stopped you right there . Stage over!!!!!. That pistol needs checked out by a good gunsmith.
It might have suffered serious damage and may have come apart in your hands after another shot or two and then caused some serious injury .
Its a game not real life or death shooting .

Heck, if I was RO'ing you then you would have been done right then and there. Last match I RO'd I stopped a guy after he had a squib that lodged in his barrel as he was about to pull the trigger again. He was ticked that I stopped him until I told him to disassemble his gun and look down the barrel for himself.

Good that you didn't get hurt.... But FWIW, finishing a stage is not worth a trip to the ER.
