IMO, yes. I've had different SIG models that worked both ways. Just be sure the hammer is falling to the intercept notch (backed slightly away from the slide), not all the way forward. As a safety check to be certain, point the unloaded gun at the ceiling, cock the hammer, put a pencil (eraser end down and being certain it is centered) in the barrel, and decock with the lever. The pencil should not move. If it jumps or tries to fly out of the barrel, that means the hammer struck the firing pin and the gun needs to be repaired. Most likely it will not.
