Adding on to what Lashlarue posted, this is the 2nd judge (that I know of) the first was on numerous occasions ought-right lied to by the BATFE and as a result was somewhat peeved at the BATFE and was demanding the documents that the BATFE were withholding be released.
But it was taken out of his hands and given to this new judge
who simply disallowed practically everything the defense had and sentenced based on personal opinions and emotionally driven anti-gun drivel.

The Court also relied, in imposing the 30-month prison sentence, on prior convictions
Olofson sustained, including one involving the carrying a concealed, loaded firearm during trick
or treating with his children. “You don’t put kids at risk on Halloween, and then deserve the
label of ‘good citizen’ who always follows the law,” Judge Clevert commented.
Something that was not a conviction, but a case that was in fact "thrown out of court".
It was over some unknown party leaving a pistol in his car and his "Legal" Open Carry of a Pistol later on.
(on the OC one, ATF Tried to argue it was concealed since the holster covered part of the pistol)

from what I can tell, the BATFE has had it in for this guy since as early as 1994 due to a BATFE informant randomly pointing fingers to get rewarded.
Also Please make note.
"No One" was even pursued for a MG possession charge. (strange eh?)
