AK47 show'em if you got'em

Top is my Yugo M70, bottom is my WASR-10. I refinished both of them, and the WASR turned out waaaay better. I think I might need a do-over on the Yugo, but then again who ever said AKs were supposed to be pretty?

I can't post that picture without someone asking that! I'm glad you like it.

It's just a water based blue/green stain mixed up by True Value. I sawed off the original forward grip, removed the old shellac, sanded, stained, and finished up with satin polyurethane.

Mine is a Norinco Type 56S. I bought it in California about 20 years ago before they lost their minds. It came with 3 30 round mags, bayonet, sling, cleaning kit and 500 rounds of ammo for about $350. And no waiting period or background check in those days. Oh how times have changed.

Shoots great, looks cool. But it's pretty darn heavy.

I need the cleaning rod to finish it off (any ideas?)

This was my first ever AK, an Inter-Ordnance M97 I bought several years ago. I have this, a SAR-1 and a SAR-2. I think I took this picture in 2000 or 2001, so the image quality isn't great compared to some of the other pics.

Why can't anyone ever name their thread "Show us your Kalashnikov!"

The AK-47 was made obsolete in 1959, when the AKM started being issued.

I've not seen an "AK-47" yet in this thread.

I have, however, seen a whole boatload of Kalashnikovs.

Probably because not everyone finds it necessary to be so pedantic on a simple picture sharing thread.

Just a garden-variety Romanian WASR.

Have a couple of NIB SLR-95s. They are my only AKs and way back in the safe. I use the SKSs to play with. Had four 95s(bought just before the ban) but have given two to the kids and they "luv em"--darn kids keep sneaking into my ammo though. Had to put a stop to that, wc
