...starting at 1130 PM eastern time. Program features an "open carry" picnic by members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League. Should be interesting.

from what i saw of it it was a pretty good piece. i was actually laying on my back with an almost inch long gash in my leg while i was watching it though...i got up from the couch and ran to get a drink before the segment came on and got sliced by a metal piece on the corner of my couch. i wasnt able to pay complete attention with my wife playing nurse and blocking the tv at times, but i didnt hear any of the usual anti stuff per se. there were a few "arent you afraid that its gonna get up by its lonesome and shoot everyone at the bbq plus the little baby ducks in the pond?" type questions, but they seemed asked more in a manner of asking for a refutation of the claim.

all in all i give a thumbsup to nightline for a fair and balanced report, and two big thumbsup to vcdl for their efforts in virginia.

I also liked that he made a point of showing that the holsters we use for OC make gun grabs a lot harder than the public would originally think.

I was surprised. The clip did not seem anti-gun, which is more than I can say for much of the media. I liked it.

Open carry may be shocking to some, but this clip seemed to dismiss much of the claims. Thanks for the youtube link.

quite possibly the least bias news report I've ever seen. I'm impressed that the interviewer had the presents of mind to ask before trying out the retention holster. The clip had the feeling of a normal interview, ie a well know newsie checking out a normal aspect of american life.......not the typical feeling they try to impart on anything gun realtated, that being the feeling of venturing with trepidation into a supermax facility to interview chester the molester.

Pretty nice, there are lots of open carry videos on YouTube. In NH we tend to have periodic open carry litter clean ups in major towns on even on the only beach in NH.

We currently have an 'issue' with Manchester with some people having been detained and harassed, but I've never had a problem.

I think that the piece was very well balanced and I really like the part when the narrator attempted to remove the weapon from the holster to prove that with the correct type of holster the weapon is not going be removed with the owner knowing about it

OH!...OH!...don't tell me...AHA! I GOT IT! JAMES BROWN!...right?

that was a very good news article very good i like it alot. more of a good open carry commerical telling the country we can open carry.

I would give Nightline an A for that one. The guys that were carrying were professional and did a good job of presenting our side.

i so much hate the wild west references...

the fact is, most towns in the old west prohibited open carry... in fact one of the reasons behind the shootout at the OK Corral was because of people violating the OC ordinance...
