I just pre-ordered Mas's latest book. I am really looking forward to reading it.

Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Gun-Digest-Bo...bs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221021883&sr=8-4 to it on Amazon

The Gun Digest Book Of Concealed Carry (Paperback)

Product Description: 256 pages

In addition to tactical aspects of self-defense, practical information like choosing the right firearm and ammunition, used gun purchases, and all legal aspects of self-defense with a gun are also extensively covered in this complete and authoritative look at concealed carry.

Most of the world is oblivious to what others are doing and/or wearing.

I like my Hawaiian shirts, though my t-shirts aren't tie-dyed. :D

I'll probably buy the book - who cares what he's wearing for the cover of it? What would you suggest?

Next cover, a tie-dye with an Hawaiian shirt over it? Puhleeze?

It's funny, I sort of agree with you but then I realize that the "real world" has absolutely NO clue about this.

The Tommy Bahama shirt has taken off around here as the thing to wear and I was more than happy to jump on that bandwagon since it makes carrying so much easier.

As for the photo vests I think they look dorky but I bet if you did a street poll of the "average dude" walking down the street he would never mention guns as a reason for wearing them.

People are clueless.

That's not Mas in the photo. What the publisher puts on the cover isn't necessarily controlled by the author, and in this case, I would catagorically say he had nothing to do with it.

First off, he would not be pointing his gun at his arm.

Secondly, he would not be carrying in condition three.

I'll e-mail him and perhaps he will come on here and talk about the new book.

I agree with Marty Hayes; that is not Mas in that cover photo. Publishers do that kind of thing. Another of Mas' books has a stupid cover photo, with a photo that does not show Mas, _The Gun Digest Book of Combat Handgunnery_. It is a good read, too; just ignore the silly gun-handling shown in the cover photo.

Gee, Mas... How stereotypical... A photosafari vest...Next cover, a tie-dye with an Hawaiian shirt over it? Puhleeze?

Thanks for prompting me to change my signature.;)

To the OP, thanks for the heads-up. I always enjoy reading what Mr. Ayoob has to say.

Who cares what's on the cover, it's the information inside that's important.

Reading the book is better than looking at the cover. Lots of carry, draw, and situational tactics I've seen reference to, but not covered well elsewhere.

The discussion on why "hollow point ammo is more humane" is very enlightening in our litigation prone world. And the comparison about going nude and carrying concealed is hilarious and accurate!

The part on ball ammo refers to internet posts, and how the "too bad about the innocent bystanders" could be used against someone in court.

I'm pretty much reading it at work on breaks - I keep it concealed in a business folder. :D

Mas Ayoob

I've started the book and like it so far. I like the fact that he doesn't nearly ignore revolvers, like some others seem to.

"Most of the world is oblivious to what others are doing and/or wearing."

Would hafta agree w/ that observation.

Cool I make sure I get one.I just want to read the book. Darn it's not Mas in the pic?

Mas can you sign my book? I really would be honored.

Be happy to, Mrs. Armoredman. You too, Threefeathers, and I look forward to meeting you soon.

As Marty said, that ain't me on the cover. That was done at Krause and the state by state law guide came from NRA.

Anything else in the book you anyone doesn't like, well, they can blame me.

best,
Mas (sorry to come in late)
