Ballistic Specialties/Angle Port offers sundry products for shotgunners. My sole experience with them is limited to a trigger shoe.

One product is choke tubes. They offer extended tubes for most systems. Porting is an option.

I'm interested is getting a set for my B day for the Beretta. Angle Port has a sale on, 5 chokes for $100.

Constrictions will be a Light Full, Mod, Light Mod, IC and Cylinder.

Any experience with these?

Thanks.....

Yes. I have 2 complete sets of Mobil choke models, extended, non ported. (long story, but I "lost" one set, bought another, and then the first set came home). I also have a set of extended tubes for the Remchoke guns. My buddy has outfitted all of his shotguns with the same.

I really like them. They are well made and I really like them being marked with the nominal barrel diameter, and the restriction in thousandths. Not needing to lug a wrench around is also a big plus. For the money, I have found little not to like.

The folks at Angle Port have been very courteous and professional. I'm a big fan.

Dave - I have used Angleport tubes for years, in several different guns. I think highly enough of them that they are the aftermarket chokes I use in my "spare no expense" Kolar.

Dave,

I have a five-choke set for my Benelli that I've used for years. They are as good an aftermarket choke as can be found and the Angle Port folks stand behind their products.

I live just three miles from their business and have used them for specialty shotgun work too. Their operation, while not huge, is a top-rate business. I don't personally know these folks, but they do great work.

You may also want to check out Rob Roberts offerings with Gobbler Guns. His operation is also local and he caters mostly to the turkey hunting crowd, if that is what interests you. Check out Gobblerguns.com.

Thanks, Willymike, I ordered a set this AM for the Beretta.

0,10,15,20,and 30 POC. Should cover the bases nicely.

Thanks, Steve. Input has been universally good.

These are extended, non ported chokes. I may add a few oz of weight to the butt to compensate.

well my Carlson chokes make my Beretta too barrel heavy and was wondering if these AnglePort were lighter....best info I could find on weight of a Carlson extended 12 gauge choke is 0.1 lb = 1.6 oz....

Each one would have a different weight, would it not? Since the wall of each constriction would be a different thickness.

I would be quite surprised if there were any significant differences in weight between two different manufacturers. X quantity of steel weighs X regardless of who manufactured it.

I have 2 Beretta 390's, but I put AnglePort chokes in them from the get go, so I never noticed a weight difference. 1.6 oz. seems like very little. A round weighs more than that, but it, of course is not on the end of a 30" extension.

Just thinking...

I installed my Mobil flush chokes and then my Carlson extended last night and was swinging the gun around (Beretta 686E 12 gauge 30")....yeah I can feel the difference. It's not a ton of bricks difference but noticeable that it bugs me so I'll keep checking out the various manufacturers' specs. Perhaps I just need to get use to 30" barrels. I have been shooting my pig of a gun, Citori 28" 12 gauge with Carlson extended chokes and just got a Beretta Black Onyx with 28" barrels and Carlson extended chokes. Both feel fine with the extra weight in the barrels.

will be waiting for Dave's test report....

99, Rebecca Etchen , who is one small increment bigger than Tinker Bell, swings a Beretta O/U with 32" Optima bore barrels like mine and kicks everyone's butt with it.

IMO, except for extreme cases,a long set of barrels and/or extended chokes can be adapted to fairly quickly. The key is BA/UU/R.

dang, I should quit my whining then LOL ;) but I would still like your feedback on those chokes. I'm currently using three Carlson chokes between two Berettas and a Franchi semi, so I need to get at least 2 more sets and would like to know how other brand chokes are...thanks.

Yes,99, you should. The one Carlson here has done nicely with Hevishot 2s on geese, and I'd have no problem getting more.

The Angle Port chokes are on the way here. Once I get them, a T&E thread will quickly follow.

Thanks.

The chokes arrived last night. I immediately screwed in the two tightest 20 and 30 POC. I will post a T&E thread after shooting them with the Geezers manana.
