The worst smelling gun cleaner?

Yes it has ammonia in it (or so it smells) although it doesn't hold a candle to the Military rifle bore solvent that comes in the tan, rectangular can- that stuff is raunchy. :barf:

Huh. I know plenty of folks who have to be restrained from dabbing a bit of Hoppe's behind the ears before a hot date!

Hoppes #9 is STRONG. Even using it in the garage, I have to be quick about replacing the lid, keep a fan running, and throw the used patches in a trash bag immediately instead of leaving them on the work table.

But to me, the worst smelling cleaner is CLP. I don't know what it is, but there is something in it that just smells bad to me.

The smell of Hoppes makes me gag.

Yes, burn the heretic! Hoppes is the smell of guns.

Butch's Bore Shine is pretty funky, but it's just that ammonia.

Blasphemy...Shortly after we were married, the ex asked if there was any particular perfume I preferred for those "personal" times. I said "yeah, the one with the number in the name". She asked "Chanel #5"? I replied "No....Hoppes #9". :D
But to answer the original question....Sweets 7.62 without doubt.

I like the smell of Hoppes and agree it is the smell of guns.

I use Breakfree a lot, but agree it has a strange and unpleasant reek to it.

But this Birchwood Casey stuff just about makes me fall out of my chair.

Hoppe's Copper Solvent stinx way worse than good ole #9. And Shooter's Choice is my pick for the worst....ulp:barf: CLP and especially RIG 2 and Hoppe's Elite are among the best for cleaning inside the house. IMO, of course.
