I recently started reloading .223 for a 1/7 twist and a 1/9. Right now the only powder I have is BL-C(2) and the projectiles are Hornady 55gr FMJ Nosler 77gr HPBT. I've also been using WSR primers. Does anyone have any good loads to recomend to me with the projectiles? More than willing to get more powder just don't know where to start. If you have any good loads your willing to share please give me a heads up. Thanks.

My favorite AR load happens to be a start load from my hornady 7th ed. manual. 55 gr fmj over 20.8 gr of H335. 2.2" col and cci #41 primer. This load will hit chest sized steal targets out to 300 yds on a red dot sight without even trying hard. The #41 primer will prevent slam fires if using in an AR type rifle.

24 gr. of H335 under a 55gr. FMJBT in my semi-auto .223. Great powder.

I use a FMJBT 55gr with 27.5gr W748 LC brass and CCI 450 primers. works real well in a 16" Bushy AR

Here's my current favorites....

24.8 to 25 gr H335 behind a 55gr. FMJBT w/ a Win SRP

and

23 gr. H335 behind a 69 gr. SMK HPBT w/ a Win SRP

both being shot from my kit built 16" AR-15 (1 in 9 twist)

With your particular powder I typically run 27.0-27.5 (max loading) behind a 55gr FMJ. Velocities are good, accuracy is OK, nothing spectacular. I get occasional fliers, but I believe that is because of the bullet more than the powder combo. (FMJ isn't _that_ great.) BLC2 seems to be fine for the 55gr application.

I haven't played with any 77gr pills so I can't help you there. I have had good success with Varget behind 62 and 70gr rounds though.

Have had great results with H335, WW748, and AA2460 with 55 gr FMJ BT bullets. I prefer ball propellants for .223 because they afford good load density and ease of use. Also like mag primers for most loads using the above named propellants.

Measured velocities are in the 3150 fps area, and all are very accurate from an IMI Galil ARM.

I did forget to mention the rifles. The 55gr FMJ is being loaded for a RRA 1/9 16" AR and the 77gr is for a HK 1/7 20" SL8. Thanks for all the advice so far.
