Gun loss

Lost? Like they sunk in a tragic boating accident or some other b.s. story that would somehow hoodwink the feds?

If you genuinely lost your guns today then you have my sympathy, and hopefully some insurance to help drown your sorrows. I keep my stuff in a safe in a locked away room but should someone steal them it wouldn't be the end of the world, just collect the check from insurance and start buying again.

I did lose an AK once, drove me a little crazy for a few hours but it turned out to be right where I left it in the garage. Oh well.....

How exactly did you loose all your guns?

Did they get stolen? Did they fall down a hole? Inquiring minds want to know....

I sold all of my firearms to my friend about a year ago. I don't know what he done with them, probably sold them, but you can't ask him because he was killed in a car wreck.

See where I'm going with that one...

The next question would be what you did with the money. Was it a check? We have no record of you cashing that check. Oh, it was cash. Well did you fill out your taxes correctly to reflect the $200 profit from the sale of those guns. Really not an upside to lying to the feds, at some point they are going to notice an inconsistency and then you are on the hook for making a false statement which they would (rightly or wrongly) use as probably cause to search your home and find those guns after all.

I lost a gun once, gave it to a good friend of mine for his son to use for deer hunting, got it back a few times but every hunting season i got the sob storey about his son really liking that rifle and needing it, soon it seemed to be more his son's rifle than mine. Sad but true. I will not loan any others.

Here is an idea. Don't LIE in the first place..........I know, silly idea...........

It is a crime to lie to a federal agent. There are plenty of cases out there where that was all they could get a person on. Conversely, it is not a crime for them to lie to you. Seems backwards doesn't it?

They (the federal agents) are not lying. They are just baiting you to see if you will lie...

Mabey its not on his tax record because he donated all the money to an anti-gun group for a tax credit, but chose not to accept the credit because he felt bad about owning the gun in the first place

UUUMMMMMM . . . .. . it was actually not a $200 PROFIT. It was the total sales price . . . . . the guns originally cost about $500 . . . . so .. .maybe he can claim a 'loss' on his tax return

Man, some of you guys need to lighten up and laugh once in a while. If we can't have a little fun telling stories to get us through these tough times then it really is depressing.

When my guns left my possession they were bartered for other goods and services. No cash changed hands, no taxes to file. Go ahead an search, you will only find those hunting guns president obama forced me to register.

I didn't tell you how much I sold them for did I? He was a dear friend, so I gave him a Bro-deal in exchange for some of his labor working on my 68 Camaro. Also, I'm unemployed and don't have to file taxes on income less than $1,000-$1,200 range.

It's more than $1000-$2000 range, actually.


We'd lighten up more is the stories had some amusement value, rather than appearing as nothing more than feeble attempts at fooling The Gov. They need to be a bit outlandish. Also, not reliant on knowing any sort of facts/laws.

So, blame animals, natural disasters, spouses, etc. They were never sold, they were given to a family of black bears in exchange for continued existence. Also, they agreed to eat my ex-wife so I no longer have to hear her nagging, even this long after our marriage ended.
Even federal agents hate ex-wife nagging, so they'll actually believe that one.

All of my guns were lost in orbit from a freak model rocket accident.
