Introducing... the ugliest darned AR there ever was

First, the camo gun should stay just as it is, good for deer hunting.

Second, that double gun arrangement is fantastic! Wouldn't that actually shoot twice as fast in full auto than a single M16 would - as one gun is working while the other is shooting and vice-versa?

I suspect that Remington used that camo pattern to render the AR platform a common rifle, valuable for everyday hunting. JMHO.

As promised... pictures from the range!
First test
This is the initial 5 round group, at 25 yards

Dime!

Ten rounds, 25 yards

Second set of 10

All of the above were from the platform (not really a bench) with the Bipod and sitting on a stool.
This is a 20 round spread, with me standing up, no support

well if you want to get it off your hands..... realtree camo or not, that machine looks to have the potential to be an incredibly accurate firearm

Oh I'm really starting to love that rifle. Next on the list would be to procure a decent scope and charging handle extention so I can see the little varmints better, that and I can put my Tdot back on my MP15

Picked up 400 rounds worth of Rem UMC ammo today, with a plan of getting about 500 more of cheap wolf ammo so I can learn the rifle well. 5.45 is not an issue yet, because its still cheap, so I'm not worried about her sister running dry. Only problem with the MP15 is I can't use it inside so I need to find an outdoor range that's relatively close and get some trigger time behind her. That and that big evil Savage 7mm Rem mag needs some attention.

I'm building a purple and gold (yes LSU colors) for my wife. I think it's treading on sacred ground but if it keeps her happy and shooting I'll do it.

So going by the 25 yard groups you shoot 3 or 4 minute of angle?

I'd say thats a fair guess. Fiocchi ammo @ the range, nothing special but not super cheap stuff either.
I want to slap a real scope on it and take it outside so I can get some ideas at 100 yards. @ That range the t dot is going to cover the whole target, I would like to be able to actually see what it is Im aiming at.

Is that decent? Its been so long since I consistently shot a rifle that I was impressed with my results... I played with my old .22 when I was home over thanksgiving, and got it dialed in to a little tighter groups @ 25 yards, but that was prone with a rest, not seated.
I've still got lots of work to do with my breathing and such, but thats why I have a year membership at the range!
I regularly annoy my buddies by being tighter on my groupings with my .40 caliber, especially when I was not going to the range as often as they were, but then again I have some bad days where I am all over the place.

im not a big fan of cammo guns, not a big hunter, but that is an awesome rifle. slap on your sleeveless flannel and I think it'll get-er-done. :p

oh yes, the Hello Kitty pink AR is a real functional rifle. my accountants daughter was getting one done with duracoat. this was after I had my wifes Walther P22 done in pink. heres her gun. I know this is a rifle thread but I had to show you> shes proud of it.

its a real rifle and it functions. its actually owned by a member of calguns.net another forum i frequent.

that rifle has raised huge controversy with certain news groups because of its color and appearance.

apparently its not real enough to make the anti-gunners feel comfortable; as they claim children would mistake the firearms for toy guns and accidents would happen.

Well, we will be heading back to the range either tomorrow or sunday to toss a few more down range. I'll have a report to follow and more pics.
Oh, and I need some help naming her!

I think if you can get a deal on the V-15 just because it is painted in realtree camo that is great. When I picked up my M1A on election night there were 3 sitting at the gun shop and I checked them out. The guy running my NICS check let me handle it and offered me a deal on it but obviously I just paid for the M1A but I could not do it. They are made by Bushmaster and the one I fiddled with seemed like a nice rifle. If you don't like realtree but that was all you could find then paint it but honestly it would be a plus for hunting around here as it would not jump out as an "assault rifle" to other hunters and any Game wardens.
