If, and I say if, they come out with a way of buying different barrel lenghts and chamberings(say 4" in .327 fed mag) to use with the same serial numbered frame, there will be a market for one. Something along the thinking of the Sig P250, but with a revolver. I can see picking something up like that, but not just another lightweight snubby. That markets already been filled.

This Ruger bashing for the recalls is getting out of hand. I'm a Smith fan but I have a SR9 that I love. A week ago I was at the range and shot my friends Sig and Kimber. I'll keep the SR9. Just felt better to me. Anyway, back to the LCR. I was lucky enough to attend the Shot Show today. I had a chance to handle the LCR. It feels great! I actually like the feel better than my 442. Then he told me to check out the trigger. I made sure the cylinder was clear and dry fired it. It almost felt like I needed two fingers to pull it. Then, towards the end of the travel, it lightened up abruptly. I hated it. But, it might be fine for it's intended use. Also keep in mind that I just dry fired it a couple times and it was so different than my J's that I'm just not liking the difference. In any case, I think Ruger has a winner in the LCR. I'm loving the fact that Smith may get some competition for their J's.

A friend of mine went to the Shot Show and handled one. He was very impressed with the weight and the quality of of build. I'm still skeptical about the frame build, but time will tell.

Just for kicks I checked on Davidsons and they already have listed in their catalog, but none are available and the price listed is the MSRP from Ruger's website. My experience has been that the real price is only 70 to 80% of what the manufacturer has listed as MSRP, at least the gun store I usually frequent.

I really want to handle one, and Il probably cave in, that what happened with the LCP. I agree I would love to see it in 327 and 9mm, a great pocket gun thats for sure. As far as the trigger that was just commented on, I guess that why you put a few boxes of ammo thru it b4 you start trustin your life w/ it

Good comment AHPD. That's why I put my "disclaimer" in my post. I think it's gonna be a hit. It felt sweet in my hand.

Looks like a Smith killer to me.

Finally a revolver with a design that's built for someone under 60 years old!!!!!!!

:neener:

Maybe it will come with an MP3 player installed in it.

I am dissapointed it is not a six shot.

Still I can see myself getting one. But the price needs to be in the $280 to $320 range. $500 is way too high for a plastic snubby.

I am a Ruger fan, but I could not buy a gun that looks this Ugly! I'll stick with my Colt cobra, 638, and SP101! At 13.5 ounces it is only 1-2 ounces lighter than the Cobra & 638. IMHO the ultimate light snub is the S&W 340!

finally I dont know if this has been posted before but here is an Email Ruger sent me.

March first cant get here fast enough.

Ruger's larger problem is that for roughly $200 less consumers will be able to buy an LCP or one of the forthcoming Taurus or SIG .380 pocket automatics.

Most buyers are not handgun experts, and Smith & Wesson or Taurus products "look more like they should."
