I am seriously considering buying a Ruger Mark III at the local gun store. They have a few of these (NIB standard version- fixed sights, standard barrel) for $299. Does this sound like a good deal to you? They also have bull-barrels for $349.

Thanks

I'd pay a little more and get only the adjustable sight model. They come drilled & tapped for a scope base that is provided.

Think I paid $339 for my Bull Barrel last year and I felt like it was a pretty good deal. Think it lists at $400 or some nonsense.

Spend the extra cash and get the Bull barrel, can't recommend it enough.

Get the adjustable sight bull barrel version (comes with a scope base).

It is match-grade accurate and one of the most fun guns there is.

Go for a shorter model ... I have the target model and it is LONG.
As in hard to fit into case long.

I love shooting it, but I wish I'd gone for the bull or another shorter model frequently.

Longer barrels have a longer sight radius for better sighting and added FPS for higher downrange energy.

I bought a MKIII 5.5" bull barrel w/adjustable sights last Sept for $275. But that was before, well, you know, so price comparison is meaningless now.

If mine disappeared, and the replacement cost was $400, I'd shed a few tears over the loss, and happily shell out the $400 for a new one.

Just bought a new one (MKIII) at the Mesquite gun show this last weekend for $240 plus tax. 5.5" Bull barrel, blued which I thought was a good deal?

I have the long barreled standard model and I really like it. I am more accurate with it than I need to be.

I like the standard barrel just fine. Don't need the adjustable sights and like the balance as it is. Still, if you're going to spend much time at the range, go for the adjustable sights model.
