After, many pellets I finally got the scope zeroed and it appears to be holding zero.

For a shooting rest I placed two tripods in a "line" and laid the air rifle across their tops (I have some rifle rests, which looks like Vs, that attach to the top of a tripod). I shot from inside my garage out to my side yard which just happens to be backed by a high berm. It really worked great, wouldn't use the double tripod rest for any thing other than an air rifle or .22 rimfire, though

First, I fired three Crosman 7.9-8.0 g (I weighed them) pellets at the top right, made some scope adjustments and fired three more at the center, made some more scope adjustments and fired at the bottom left. I chronied them and average fps is 843.5 See the following target pic.


From the following pic, you can see a dime can cover any of the groups.


I have some Crosman Pointed pellets who weighed in at 7.4-7.5 g, chronied at 898.3 fps on average. So I fired some of them at the top left. They didn't group well - I really didn't expect the same POI, but I did expect some smaller groups.

Today I received some RWS Meist. FP and some Crosman 8 g pointed pellets. I'm looking forward to seeing how well they do.

Yes, articap, I plan on sending it back. If it was lighter I would be keeping it. I really like how accurate it is.

It weighs just over 8 lbs. And for me, handicapped as I am, the Blackhawk is a bit much. The other Ruger, with a wooden stock, only weighs a little more than 6 lbs. The barrel of the 6-lb Ruger is only about 1/4 inch shorter.

I'm hoping the 6-lb Ruger will be just as accurate as the Blackhawk. I'm going to shoot it some first, before I send the Blackhawk back. If the 6-lb gun isn't as good a shooter, I'll be sending it back and keeping the Blackhawk.

On Sportsman's Guide, on the link with the Air Hawk, are lots and lots of good reviews - not about how good the Guide was or how promptly they received the gun. No, these reviews are about how good the gun is. So, I feel pretty good about the swap.
