Gods coununtry. IDAHO.
I just heard about a Ruger PC 9 carbine in 9mm so i was wondering if anyone has one or has used one.
Will any P seires mag work in them?
how is there accuracy?
Are they simular to the 10/22?
Just looking for genral info on them..thanks

Had one. Yes, they use P series mags, not sure of the exact model.

Trigger was heavy, HEAVY, HEAVY!

Can't change stocks as the trigger mechanism is built into it.

I sold mine and bought an Uzi. Much happier with it. BSW

I have one, I have had it....gee...15 years now?

Very fun plinker, very accurate with my reloads, it has served as a good training rifle for my kids and other youngsters to move up from .22's to something bigger.

I believe P-85 and P-89 mags are the ones that work with it.

As brian mentioned the trigger is a bit heavy.

Mine has functioned very well over the years.

I had one and traded it but I wish i had kept it. They are a lot of fun to shoot, fairly accurate, and mine was very reliable. It's a great plinker and could be used for more serious things.

I've had a PC9 for several years now. I have the base one with open site (no peep). It has proven 100% reliable over the course of nearly 2000 rounds of the nastiest dirtiest grimiest 9mm ammo I can find - and it has done so while using any mags that I was able to stuff into it.

While the trigger pull is on the heavy side I think it's a great carbine that is extremely accurate inside of 100 yards. If you can pick one up for sub-$400 grab it! :)

It is very, very similar to the 10/22 and uses the P series mags. P95 mags work with it as well if I remember correctly.

Ian sean do you use SP or SR primers. I load for my M94 44mag and use LP primers so can I use SP primers or is there a slam fire problem.

I use SP primers, other than the PC-9 I have other 9mm pistols. I have made a pretty decent plinking round (pet load) that works well in everything I have. Never had a slam fire with the PC-9.

In spite of the heavy trigger, having such light recoil, the long barrel lets you get some nice accuracy out of 9mm.

Other than exterior looks there is nothing the same as a 10/22 inside the PC9/PC4. The blowback system is completely different. It is a crude, reliable, easy to shoot, fun and compact rifle. It uses readily available P series 9mm/40S&W pistol mags. There are some aftermarket hicap mags available. The factory trigger is about the worst ever. The first time I shot mine, could have sworn the trigger was broken but a fellow shooter had his there and it was worse than mine.
If you find one at a good price it is worth it. :)

I am upset that Ruger discontinued these awhile back. Been keeping an eye out for a used one to pop up locally.

I love the idea of a pistol caliber carbine with a traditional straight grip stock. Im not a fan of pistol-grip examples like the hi points or beretta cx4.

Below is a picture of my PC-9 that has an after market scope mount from Jack Weigand.
IMO the trigger pull is not heavy at all and it's a very reliable rifle. The PC-9 came with either rifle sights or a ghost ring set up. The peep on the ghost ring sight seemed rather large to where it became almost invisible to me when I looked through one.
This particular scope mount raises my cheek off the stock but I really like the ergonomics of the stock anyway. It's more suited for using the rifle sights.

I always wanted one, but I thought the price was a bit high. I thought it was a good idea to have a pistol and a carbine that could use the same P series magazines. Now that I have some cash, they don't make 'em anymore, and I don't see many at gun shows for a decent price.

I've had two of the PC9s, one with ghost ring sights and the other with standard irons. I had the same Weigand rail articap pictured, and it worked fine with a Millett red dot setup.

I would disagree with articap that the trigger on these rifles are generally not heavy. Having owned two of them, both with heavy triggers, I'd say articap got the peach out of a bunch of lemons when it comes to the trigger. It's also a heavy rifle for the cartridge it fires. However, this works for it when it comes to recoil (there's hardly any) and it's relatively compact.

I couldn't make either of mine malfunction, even when I accidentally inserted a CZ 14-round 9mm pistol magazine into one of them! The Mecgar mags worked fine for mine, including the 20-round version. One of them was more accurate than the other, but not much more.

Have it bigger bore brother the Ruger PC4. Bought it when they 1st came out. It is heaver than it looks but has been a very reliable carbine. In fact I can't ever remember having it jam. They are fun to shoot, kind of like a M1 Carbine.

had one and liked but but i traded it for an AK. if i find another one i'm going to buy it though i'd rather get the PC4 for the added punch. very reliable, accurate, and a lot of fun to shoot.
