Looking at an original series (non-takedown) Ruger PC-9 carbine. Had one years ago, during Bill Ruger's 10 round limit. Finally sold it, but used aftermarket mags.
Thinking of another one, with aperture sights.
What magazines do the older models take? Are they the same mags as the current generation PC carbine?
Any other reflections on the older PC-9?
Thnx,
Moon

My PC9 take down which I bought last year came with the SR9 17 round mags made in Italy (Mec-Gar?) with the black follower. My friend just bought one and it came with a cheaper version 17 rounder with a orange follower (Promag?). He is using the Glock mag well,so he gave it to me. The follower catches on the front corner slot (which is not on the Italian mag) and jams loading it. The follower instead of having a solid front skirt has 2 thin fingers which catch in said slot .I'm glad I scored a few Italian ones when they were available.

I love my original PC-9.

In addition to the Ruger factory 10 and 15 rounders, Mec-Gar makes 10, 15, 17 and 20 rounders for the P89 series.

I'll have a look for some MecGar 20s. Is the P89 the best number to use?
Thnx guys.
