Who has fired 20K rounds or more through a single pistol?

Yup, replaced a few recoil springs and at 15k I replaced all the springs but that's it. Btw, Colt 1911 in .45

only a little over 17,000rds in my xd, it will be well over 20k after i get back form the sandbox this time.
striker spring and recoil spring and that is it, when needed.

I'm on pace to get that through my Les Baer by next summer.

I might be getting close to that through my .22 (I know I have at least two cases through it, but its hard for me to keep track of exact numbers with .22), and I may have put that through my club's S&W 41 that I used to use.

ALOT of USPSA / IDPA shooters go through 20K in pretty close to about a years time.

I don't think I am on the high end, but my round count is pretty close to:

300 rounds during the week at the gun club before a match.
175ish average between match types.

475 a week.

1900 a month x 10 months = 19,000 rounds.

Most guys I know just change springs.

Granted, some have longer seasons than others, but 20K is not uncommon imo. There is NO way I would be able to afford my ammo if I didn't reload.

In these days, the price of ammo and match fee's for a month is generally cheaper than 3 x full course dinners for two with drinks at a resteraunt, and not as fattening...

S&W mod 19 that I bought when I went to work for GSP in 1971. I used to teach at the academy range so it got used by a lot more people than just me. Still have it, cherish it and shoot it monthly. Only thing ever replaced was the rear sight leaf when the white outline finally faded away, all else is original.......

I have put around 3,000 rounds a year through my Kimber Custom Classic for the last 15 years or so. I replace recoil springs and once had to replace the bushing -- I was experimenting with .45 Super loads, using a 28 lb recoil spring, and it broke the legs off the bushing.

As an avid Bullsye shooter, I have put over 35,000 rounds of 45 ACP through my 'main' wad gun in the last 9 years. I replace the recoil spring every January. Other than that, I've never replaced a thing. My hardball gun has only had about 2000 rounds through it. I rarely shoot it since going distinguished.

In the same time period I have put over 90,000 rounds through my 5 1/2" Ruger MKII that I bought second hand. It has never had anything replaced with the exception of a new fitted Clark trigger that I put in right away when I first bought it.

I know for a fact that my 1960 mfg'd M/19 has had at LEAST fifty thou. thru it. True, most were lighter .38 spl rounds, but it's digested more than it's share of Keith 168's over 13 plus of 2400..............that gun will still cut cloverleaf groups at 25 yards! It's cylinder is somewhat loose, the bore when viewed under magnification shows it's wear, but I would still rely on that gun any day.

I had it factory re-built and re-finished in 2/67, carried it as a duty gun untill the mid '80's.

20,000 plus rounds through my Glock 17.
3 pound trigger connector at 500 rounds. Personal preference.
Sights replaced with Heinie Straight Eights after 2000 rounds. Personal preference and the factory front sight kept falling off.
Recoil spring replaced at 7000 rounds. Preventative maintenance.
Barrel replaced at 10,000 rounds due to a minimum barrel length law being introduced in Australia, now has a factory 122mm barrel.
No changes in the last 10,000 rounds. No jams except the time I chemically cleaned it and forgot to re-lube it.
Trigger still breaks at around 5.5 pounds, crisp.

Heck, I put over 5,000 through my Kimber Stainless Gold Match before I ever detail stripped it. I'd change the spring and oil and keep shooting.

I put over 20,000 through it the first 5 years or so. The only thing that broke was when the adjustable sight tossed the windage adjustment nut in the bushes. It still worked, but it was out of warranty by a year or two, so when I called Kimber to see about buying a replacement nut they said they'd send one for free. Great.

They sent me a whole new rear sight. Thanks guys.

Anyway, for the heck of it over the years since 1999, I've fitted a mainspring housing, a barrel bushing, Spegel grips, extractor, and some ignition parts - even bought a Power jig. And Mr. K's book. The gun didn't need any of it, I was just curious.

That is 100% correct !!!! I've shot IPSC/Action matches for 20+ years and did use to shoot twice a week practice { 300/500 rds. centerfire } and at least 500 rds. of .22rf each visit , then I shot a match on EVERY weekend { apx. 200/250 rds. } and for 10 years , I ran a IPSC match on a weekday { apx. 150 rds. } -- add in the extra Bowling Pin Shoots , 3 Gun Action , Steel Challenge {LOTS of AMMO } and SASS/Cowboy Action and I've shot over 50,000 A YEAR !!!! YES -- I DO Reload and cast my own bullets !!! LOL

My Jimmy Clark Sr. PinMaster .45acp has 20,000 rds. thru it more then once --- never replaced anything other then recoil springs { every 5000 rds. or so } , mag release spring {once } and the 3 leaf mainspring {also only once }.

My McArthure Colt Delta Elite 10mm has over 40,000 rds. thru it and again , only had some springs replaced.

My Ruger MK2 .22rf has WAY OVER 50,000 rds. thru it and I've never replaced ANYTHING on it.

Revolver wise --- both my Main Match Cowboy guns { Uberti Thunderers } have over 20,000 thru each along with my "back-up" pair !!! My custom S&W 610 10mm 5" has over 20,000/30,000 thru it and has not had anything replaced. And my S&W 29 pin-gun has at least 15,000 "hot" pin loads thru it with nothing needing to be replaced.

Maybe I'm just "lucky " !!!! ---- LOL

Ruger stainless MKII, probably 30-35K rounds over 25 years, has Volquartsen extractor and sear, otherwise factory stock. Gets cleaned every few years, whether it needs it or not.

Yep. 2 of em. A Ruger MkIII, and replaced nothing so far. Also a Beretta 96FS and only replaced the recoil spring... once.

Yep. 2 different High Standard Victors. They are still going strong and will outshoot just about anything.

At the Academy, one of the instructors had a glock that he had fired 75k rounds through it with out cleaning, just to see when it wouldnt be reliable anymore. that was 4 years ago, i dont know the round count but he still hasnt cleaned it.

I assume you mean centerfire pistols? In two years I've put nearly 5k through my 22/45 and I don't even shoot that much. Give me a few more years and I'll hit 20k easy. I don't expect to replace anything at that time.

I've got a G34 with 22,910 on it currently. Replaced the locking block pin when it broke somewhere around 16,000 rounds. Replaced 2 recoil assemblies and two trigger springs as part of PM. Replaced a set of Heinies that just wouldn't stop rusting .

Depending on who you talk to, 20k rounds could be a lifetime of shooting or a couple-month workup for a big match.

I'm working on it with my ruger mark II, for 20,000 rounds thats about 40 bulk packs. I've probably fired about 7 or 8 through it since I've had it.

well over 20,000 thru two of mine - an armorer's 1911 from WWII with ball-only , and a Ruger Blackhawk .357 with nothing but .38 specials thru it.....replaced only a couple of springs on the Colt, nothing on the Ruger
{ keep in mind this may not be a fair evaluation/count, as I had a little headstart on a lots of guys - been shooting them since the 50's on the Colt, and the Ruger seems like the 60's as soon as they came out....}

Old Ruger MKII has closer to 50k through it. It eats up a bulk pack 550 about every month, and I have had it for many years. Replaced the recoil spring and the extractor a couple of times.
