Meh... 9x23 doesn't seem right. It's steppin' on my babies, the .38 Super and the .357 SIG. 'sides, the .357 SIG is meant for 9mm sized guns, which means the near P232-sized P239 is a very appealing .357 SIG. A steel Kahr P40 rebarrelled to .357 SIG works too.
As for necked-down SIG casings, they've fixed that problem enough that the Texas DPS has lots of reliability, and lots of bullets that have gone through windshields where .45 ACP simply bounced.
