Found this article on Lew Rockwell.... Although it is laced with opinions that would lead you to believe we should all be scared, there may be some actual scary stuff involved....

Basically if you cut out the rhetoric.... A man who has not yet committed a crime is made into a criminal by his own wife. The man's wife tells police he is off balance because of his beliefs concerning the government. Law enforcement then confiscates his legally owned firearms, then charges him for additional crimes. Whether he actually broke the law remains to be seen.... but the fact that his wife's opinion was probable cause for firearms confiscation and a warrant is scary enough......

The guy was in posession of items that are illegal to own where he lived. If he beats those charges he will in all likelihood get his guns back.

My guess he won't beat the charges. There's a good chance he'll go to the joint or the nut house.

A guy with his credentials had to know that it was illegal to be in posession of tear gas grenades, pepper spray ammo and police batons. If he didn't he was stupid and stupid should hurt.

The media describing his collection in typical media fashion is nothing new. Anything over 2 or 3 guns is an arsenal in their opinion and owning such makes you a whack job or a terrorist. They're wrong but as someone once said the pen is mightier than the sword though in this case its mightier than the gun.

Yeah, but this is from Lew Rockwell.

At least he didn't blame the NRA. :D

Wildly paranoid, twisted, and biased. I don't even know what suposedly happened it's so anti-government. And I though the Brady bunch took the cake when it comes to twisting facts. Can anyone find a news story of wha actualy happened? He had illegal stuff, he got busted. Good for the police. BTW, how is it illegal to have a police baton? I can understand tear gas and pepper spray stuff, but a stick?

What exactly was illegally in his possession? Tear gas? Pepper spray? Please, illuminate us on the topic?

It's my information that possession of pepper spray or tear gas by a private citizen is against the law in Massachusetts. I don't know about police batons.

Yes, Massachusetts has some egregious weapons laws, but they are still the laws until a court tosses them out. Maybe after a favorable decision in McDonald , this fellow will try to beat the rap on constitutional grounds.

So, in MA it's illegal to own tear gas & pepper spray? And this is what precipitated an armed raid by SWAT?
There is no such thing as a 2nd Amendment or a RKBA, it's a fantasy...

I'll tell you what scares me is thinking about living in a place where criminals are encouraged to "ply their trade" by making simple & affordable self defense weapons like tear gas and pepper spray illegal. Thank God I live in Arizona where I get to decide what I want to carry to best defend my life in the event that I am attacked.

Approve gun control.

Left the common man no means to resist other nefarious characters.

These guys tried...... The first fight in the Revolutionary War, was over the British coming to get the guns.

These guys had a small problem with it.

^^^Well you won't have to worry about that ever happening again, half the chest thumpers around here would be more then happy to collaborate with the redcoats in defrocking Americans of their RKBA, hell, more then half....

Wow, you must be Magical to know with such certainty just what the "the guy" was thinking. Plus you seem to have magically checked out his "credentials" too.

Well, if it was illegal, then he was clearly in the wrong. Except for that pesky little Second Amendment. It's pretty sad when members of a site dedicated to the preservation of Constitutional rights think that something is wrong just because a law says it is. Legal =/ right; illegal =/ wrong.
