Lets start by saying I first fell in love with the 1911 design, picked up an full size and compact 1911...Have since also picked up a Star PD to throw into the mix.

Lately I have gotten the CZ itch.. i handled a friend's 40p and well, was ruined. SO, fast forward about 6 months and I decide my first CZ pistol will be a P-07. Well, I get one and LOVE IT.. it is one of the best shooting pistols I have handled. So, of course there is a full size 75 coming to fill out the collection.

Alright, fast forward to today... I fully recognize my nearly uncontrollable problem with buying guns. Fortunately, I can currently afford them BUT I have gotten better and have been showing restraint and even traded off some seldom used guns to pick up some more desirable guns. I sold an AR, bought two revolvers. Traded a 1911 and revolver, got a BHP GP Comp. Sold a Marlin model 30, bought a Puma 92... you get the idea.. problem is, I have gotten rid of everything I am willing to part with and decided, NO MORE BUYING GUNS until I get into a new house...FRUSTRATING....
So, today I go into my friend's (dealer/enabler's) shop and behold a guy has traded this LNIB CZ75 SP-01 Tactical for a Glock 19 and it can be mine for $500 OTD!!!!!! But I said I wouldnt buy anymore for a while.. it has only been a few weeks since I got the last gun (that was about a 6 gun stretch over the course of a month. So... lets see how well THRers know me.. What did I do from here?;)

my advice would be, pass on it.

Thats not so hot a price, and the tactical is a decocker model, the regular SP-01 can be cocked and locked, which I personally like better.

To give you an idea on the secondary market for CZ Sp-01s, I got a SP-01, + about 300 dollars <if new> in magazines, holsters, grips, and sights for 550.

Well, looks like no love for the SP-01 tactical. I think it is a pretty kick ass gun....

I have an SP 01 Tactical with a TLR 1 light on my nightstand. It's a heck of a nice pistol. I paid $556.00 new, out the door. It's worth every penny. Trigger pull has really smoothed out with use and there is practically no felt recoil. I would highly recommend this pistol to anyone interested. Good luck with your decision.

Awesome gun EAJ... Lovin the grips.. I imagine it is a hell of a shooter.

Thanks, it’s more accurate than me. If you have the extra cash, CZ Custom does some nice work. If not, the out-of the-box version is a fine pistol too.

CZ Custom shop modifications include: CZ Competition Rear & Fiber Optic Front sight; CZ custom SA/DA hammer & main spring; Tuned trigger components; Re-profiled and polished disconnector and associated surfaces; Firing pin block removed and adjusted FPB lifter; Slide stop for magazine release with heavy bullets; Polished underside of disconnector rail and break breach face edge; Cocobolo Grips; Springs: 11 lb. Recoil, 13 lb. Main.

I must say that the price, while not prime, is really not too bad. I have a regular SP-01 and can attest that it is just an awsome shooter. You might even try to bargain a bit - but the price is not really out of line.
