Hmmm, not the prettiest thing in the world but if Savage does one thing right it's putting lead on target accurately for the money. Should be a very good buy.
How is this not so good? It handles nice and shoots well under an inch, what more do you want? We all dont have a ton of money top drop on a high end rifle you know...
Crap. I have an extra scope/rings/bipod sitting in a drawer somewhere that i didnt want to put on anything, now you guys might of forced me to find that stuff a home, lol.
I am looking for my first deer hunting rifle of my own, in .308 Win. At this point, i want a Marlin XS7. But i also saw the new savage edge and cant help but wondering if its a good rifle or not, any ideas or thoughts on the new edge? also considered a stevens 200, but gosh, they are uglier than the edge. i plan to top whatever rifle i get with a Redfield 4-12X40
Guys just give up on the basic entry rifles, if you like savage action just buy action and get qualified gunsmith to put barrel upon it look for match quality makers in barrels like Shilen
I saw the Edge this week at the gun store- the barrel is the same as the Stevens 200, but I was not impressed with the stock and safety. The grip on the stock was really small in diameter and felt weird IMO. I love the Stevens 200 XP (below).
