I am about to head out on another deployment and am looking for some good gun related stories to read. I end up cutting and pasting them and putting them on my Kindle for reading on my down time.

I've read a couple of the Nightstalker stories which were great. My question is, does anyone have a master list of links etc to these great stories that are burried here on THR? Any help would be appreciated.

Google "Lights Out" by halfast its adobe and free. It's not exactly a short story but a good read.

Also I dont know if its on kindle but Monster Hunters International (or Inc) by our own Correia.

I've read Lights Out and the Nightstalker trilogy which were both amazing. Those are the type I'd like to find on here. That and zombie stories as well.

Monster Hunters was not available on Kindle but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Got to support our local THR writers for their great work!

If you want Hurricane Flu I then send me an email and I'll attach it on an email back to you.
Cheers,
Apple

deahawk... not sure if your interested in paper books too but if you send me a mailing address I will send you the road. Not a "gun" book but a good book featuring a gun.

You can get MHI on the Kindle. Just go to www.baen.com and click on the webscriptions tab. It is only $6 too. Plus there are a ton of free Baen books you can download there too.

Not neccesarily all THR fiction, but it is how I got started. Here is a link to what I've got online: http://larrycorreia.wordpress.com/online-fiction/ The latest is Tom Stranger: Interdimensional Insurance Agent. :)

LOL, yeah i broke down last week and ordered the print version of MHI. I read that in 2 days. Great writing and an excellent story. I will definitely look into your other works. Thanks you.

Sorry I don't have recommendations for you. But thank you for your service, good luck, and stay safe.

Try Deep Winter By T. Sherry

This is a VERY good look at 'Suburban America' after a series of major events.

I followed the first (of three) books on another site, then went on to read the book when published.

I wrote Mr. Sherry when my son deployed to the sand box (his first, after my 2 tours), and he emailed me a copy in PDF for my son with a very nice and supportive msg.

I also sugest doing as I did - pas it on to a non-preper to get them on-board!

Lastly - for them-what-not-heard... Lights Out is now off the web, and is pending a deal in Hollyweird! This was cut from another site...

-Update from Halffast 2/23/2010
Well, the day has come. I have made a deal with a Hollywood producer to shop Lights Out around to some studios. He thinks we have a great shot at getting one of them to take on the project. We are also working on a book deal.

That means that I need to ask you to remove LO from your site. There is no way that I can ever repay you for the support you have given the story. Of course you will get an acknowledgement in the book and I will send you a signed copy.

Thanks again for everything.

When I first read "Lights out" I thought that it would make a good movie. I hope they don't mess it up in movie form.

I'm the author of the Deep Winter series, including Deep Winter, Shatter, Remnant, and the fourth book, 'Distance' which will start posting soon on my blog, www.deepwinterstory.blogspot.com.

Anyone who's interested in the series, shoot me an email at [email protected], and I'd be happy to send you free PDF's of all three, and info on buying autographed copies. They're available at Amazon and Lulu, but my direct copies are much less money....

Folks ask me why I sell them for less, and not more, than the on-line retail price: I think they're charging more than people can afford (and certainly more than I wanted to charge) and I'd rather give people the stories; have them buy some ammo with the difference; and if they're interested in the hardcopies after they're squared away, then great.

You can read some reviews of the series at Amazon (both good and bad) and at Lulu.com.

Best regards,

Tom S.

Corria's stuff is available at http://www.baen.com/ and they also have a free library. I loaded up on them when I had some surgery last year and was going to be down for a while. Just download the .mobi files, and they'll run just fine on your kindle. Also you can buy the non free books for your kindle at a very reasonable price.

If you'd like drop me an IM, and I can send you some stuff also.

Stay safe, and thank you for your service.

Dan
