DPMS Panther A2

Looking at an 18" Mossberg 590A1 12 gauge myself. I like the look of the 20" better but the 18" feels more balanced to me. Any input?

Balanced? Are you going to be walking a tightrope with it? I see this all the time and I just don't know what people are talking about.

I chose the 20" 9-shot model #50771 and have no regrets. My opinion is that 3 extra rounds is completely outweighs any advantage of having a 2" shorter barrel. It's a combat shotgun, not a tempurpedic.

I dont know but I can almost guarantee its one of these guns....
M1A Scout Squad

saiga shotty(haven't decided on what caliber)
saiga 7.62x39

saiga 7.62x51

(i know, i know, i got addicted to the siagas....)

marlin 1894c 357 Mag

some tricked out 10/22

MAYBE a mosin.(ammo is cheap)

if anyone can help with the choice (i'm looking for a deal), that be great.

H&K P30 or P30L in either 9mm or .40

Because it's the most comfortable gun I have ever held in my hand and I've yet to hear a bad review of it.

I just put an order in the mail for an M1 carbine. I don't lust after them, but my recently deceased grandfather was a mortarman and carried one in the Pacific. That is mainly why I want one, plus since the CMP will run out relatively soon.

No, no tightropes, but I do enjoy a gun that handles well (to me). I've handled both the 18 and the 20 (have you?) and the 20 felt long and cumbersome, almost front heavy. The 18 shoulders better and swings a little faster (again, to me).

Don't understand balance? Shoulder any long gun. Does it feel like someone is pulling down on the barrel slightly? Does the gun want to fall forward or backward if you remove your shooting hand and support it only with your off hand and your shoulder? Then it's not balanced. The majority of the weight of the rifle should feel like it is centered around the middle of the gun. For me this point is usually just forward of the action.

All of the above is strictly my opinion, take it for what you paid for it.

This always brings a high number of replies no matter how many times it is asked - because it's fun!

I just bought a Ruger SR9c. Not sure why except I saw ads and a great review and my gun store had it in stock! So, it might be awhile before I buy another. But, right now a FN .45 is at the top of the list.

Yeah, I understand what it means, but I wasn't clear enough with my words. I have heard people saying the 20" is front heavy and I just don't notice it. I have played with and shot both models and the extra weight from a full tube doesn't even come to mind when I'm handling or shooting it.

Sigh... the next gun... well, if my finances allow later this year, it's going to be a Sako TRG in .308 with a nice scope - tired of the coyotes running away when I whack them with the .223, so the TRG looks like just the thing for punching their tickets properly.

If finances don't allow, well, the next gun will just be upgrades to my 700 LTR, specifically a new bolt and a better trigger. The LTR is a great rifle, but the trigger pull on a factory Remington is outrageous... I'm starting to think about hiring a couple of sherpas just to help me pull that trigger when I need to shoot.

A CZ-452 Varmint in .22lr. The -452 is being phased out this year so I'd better hurry.

I am done for now concerning firearms, however, I am looking into buying suppressors for my walther p22, my .45's, and my ar15.

It was more the extra length that bothered me than anything. I know, I know, it's only 2 inches, but to me it seems like another foot or so. The 18" is light, nimble, and compact; and it's just what pushes my buttons. I doubt I'd pass by a 20" at a good price though.

To each his own right? Guess that's why there's so many different lengths and models.

Next gun I'm after is a stainless New Vaquero in .45 Colt with 4 5/8" barrel. I'm getting big into cowboy action shooting, and have come to really like .45 Colt in general. I already have a stainless one with 7 1/2 inch barrel, and want a 4 5/8 incher to match it.

This'll be my third New Vaq. I love ther darn things. I'm currently working on selling my blued .357 New Vaq with 4 5/8 inch barrel so I can afford the trade. Just wanting another one in .45 Colt, I guess.

Ever since I bought my M-1 Garand I have wanted a Mini-14. Cheaper to shoot and the ones I see at the range look like a lot of fun to shoot.

The other possibility is a Ruger Blackhawk in .357.
